Moved into a new place that is 300 cheaper than the old one. Bigger yard, better location, closer to nature. I think I'll like it here for the time being.

I also put a Deadpool sticker in the back window of my car today

    A deadpool sticker? :D
Oh god you don't go around thinking you're a superhero do you?
Like those folk that put transformer stickers on their cars and I'm like you know, it's not really a transformer, right? Yep. You got a bucket of shit there instead. :D

If he thought he was a super hero it would have been a kick ass sticker.

    I have a

NASCAR Camping World Truck Series magnet on my truck. =p
A #24 sits beneath it and on the other side are two Broncos magnets SB50 and the horse head logo. :)

I actually think they make my truck look kinda tacky, but, I like it because it's redneck. =p

I made a big sheet of magnets and placed all my sports teams on it then I cut them out and I have magnets, and it was cheaper than buying one magnet from a sports team shop. =p

you got pics to go with the different tables (I mean, I understand the 8ft to 7ft one, but the ...what's the pockets...wait,...re-reading. cuz the pockets ARE the same right?, but the ball size is different?? or...ok, "cut pocket" is the side pockets??? haha idk!)

I used to play some. Dad taught me. But lol we probably had a 7ft table (all that would fit in our house, I guess) with the larger balls. :p Because I played in other places later, with the standard tables. It was actually more fun, then again, the competition was a little better (actually Dad is pretty good, but ?different? skills and/or rules?? idk! just different)

but then I stopped going to those other places...I mean, once you play on those tables, it feels kinda cheapened playing on the small ones...plus the damn thing is falling apart and you keep hitting ceiling and walls with the stick, (oh gah! and the cue sticks are like ALL now warped!!! :p) no one can take it seriously! I think I only played once in over 10 years and that was just to help out my little cousin. Awe!!! We lost big time! :p but it was fun!

but real competition is more fun! :p I just think I'm so rusty anymore...or never really was THAT good, it'd take awhile to be respectable again. hehe

I'll try and find an example because I've had a few snotty Americans cuss me out on pool forums over this. :D

Basically an American style tables the pockets are "cut" straight. So from the edge of "rail" it is a straight cut into the outer edge of the pocket. So it looks like this... \/ imaging that V there \_/ okay that's better. The straight line is the depth of the pocket right, the straight lines are what I refer to as "straight cut". Basically if the ball hits that's cut/line it will bounce to the other cut/line and fall in. Unless you smash it really really hard.
Whereas on our tables the pocket is like.. )_( you hit the curve and the ball bounces well away from the pocket.

Imma have shower, will post pics soon. :D

oh oh! I think I DO understand though Irie? wait...Irmi?? haha what do I call you? But yes, ok, I'm in America and we have the like \_/ thing (pretty sure anyway) Wow! I can't even imagine how frustrating the other is!!
Still, pics would be cool, cuz i don't know where to look.

    K, I think I'll be sleeping now. Will make a good old "college (;) ) try"!! :D
FYI-I really don't like how we throw around "college" here though. I went to a university, so it makes sense that I'd say, "going to university" or something. Ok, sorry. Just had to vent that! :p

    ok this is good picture.

this is what i mean about straight pockets. so as long as you hit that straight edge, most of the time from experience and watching 9 ball it has a very high percentage chance of going in, pending the speed needed to make the shot.

whereas ours are curved like this next photo. have to be very very accurate. hit those rails and your ball is going wayyy all over the place anywhere but in that pocket. :D

but i must say, i am not sure if every pool table is like this or played on this in america. it's just from what i've seen and saw. that might be a "9 ball" table specific trait, and that's what the pubs use lol.

maybe it is a american style then. nothing wrong with them just, training their methods is difficult because you can "cheat" the pocket so much more, so you can afford to drive a cue in and get maximum spin because you might have that tolerance slightly. cheating the pock I mean like, you aren't aiming dead centre in the pocket, you can afford to "cheat" it by a little bit, hitting to the sides rather than the centre, which allows you to use a lot more different spins to reach better positioning.

once you hit where the wood ends your ball will pretty much go it, but we just got get into the "jaws" more.

since that's a corner shot, if you are shooting along one of those rails, and your ball makes contact, even the slightest of that rail, it will never go in unless there's a bad roll on that corner, but I've seen the cut style pockets, you can still contact that rail and the ball will jag in that cut edge, and spit the ball onto the cut angle and bounce its way down and it, wheras our one would literally throw the ball up into the opposite corner and then, take your pick which direction it will go as it rebounds off all the angles on it's way out.

Maybe that's why I don't see too many American snooker players on TV? I mean there must be some, but I only every see Euro, UK and Asia. and that Australian guy.

Snooker pockets are exactly the same, actually i think that's a snooker table photo, but it's how ours are too.

    :yikes:

I'm glad this was in the driveway as opposed to on your home.

The way it was here last night, I was honestly a bit concerned that a tornado was about to come through here...it was unnaturally silent as the sky got quickly darker and darker. Then the loud noise of the wind and the storm...it was kind of unreal for a bit.

It reminded me of when I was (unknowingly) in the midst of a tornado in 1984.

The storm blew through here quickly. Hubby and I were on the porch watching. He said the wind was about 40 mph so I just went and looked it up and it was 37 mph.

    No damage.

Wow storms! Our basement leaked some apparently. We mostly just got a lot of rain though. Some flurries yesterday. Actually that was kinda excitin cuz I was saying how we should have another snow in March. It has been unseasonably warm here. Not that I don't enjoy that weather, it just concerns me is all. We need balance. Mother disagrees. :p
