It's the clothes washer that's backing up into everything else.

Hopefully a water hose will flush out the blockage up there.

 

And throw a whole bottle of draino down the pipes just to be safe.
You can get environmentally friends drain clean now that release billions of enzymes that eat away the blockages. Something doesn't sit right with me on that though like, I don't want bacteria in my drains either so, I just prefer the stuff that's going to get the job done quickly and at the cheapest price. Full on poison.

 

drano and liquid plumber can fracture clay and porcelain .. also a bitch for any plumber that may need to get pipes apart and its still in there.

baking soda, vinegar ..

enzymes are good for septic systems. But wont matter much on roman drains that run straight to the street and out to treatment plant.. takes much to clog a 4inch pipe. usually the problem will be right in the toilet trap...

Good to sometimes just flush all your drains with warm water and vinegar and DAWN .

 

I think my pipes are plastic not clay. =p

But I was surprised that Mom didn't like them. Ok, it's still a damn "birdsnest" right now (sooo slow going natural), but she still isn't interested I guess. Ahhh, and I could have not even brought it up! Oh well. Now I know for sure and won't have to bother updating them on the practically nothing happening yet.

 

The 4 vent stacks on the roof were flushed out and we still have the problem.

The next thing we will try is:

[background=#fcfcff]Plug up the washing machine line with a wet rag, fill the tub up 6 inches with water, leave stopper closed, fill the bath sink, leave drain closed, flush the toilet, then plunger the toilet vigorously - the idea would be to fill the pipe with water up to the clog, then start plunging - you could use the tub also, but you'd probably pull water out of the w.c.[/size][/background]

[background=#fcfcff]the most likely thing to happen is nothing (i'd say 99 out of 100), you'll just force water up a vent or air will come out the bath sink overflow - but good things happen on the upstroke of a plung (is there a snigglet for that?), so you never know.[/size][/background]

[background=#fcfcff]just to set your expectations, if there is no cleanout - the toilet may get pulled to provide access for an auger.. if you are handy, you could save a couple bucks by putting it back yourself - [/size][/background]
