It was interesting to say the least yesterday.... After the pine needle to the eye I had to finish mowing and everything looked like something out of the "Predator" movie... Today it's fine.

Major score today $125.00 worth of plants for $20.00... Large majority of them are ferns. Of course I have to plant them now. (Been waiting for ferns to go on sale, I should go get more)

Rest can work wonders for eyes. I'm glad it's better, and I'm totally jealous of your ferns!

At the price I can get some of those ferns I might try to naturalize them into the woods. Something I've been wanting to do... I donno.

    That would be nice...

We've got a couple different varieties of small ferns in the back yards and the big ferns, that were here before the drought and dog trampling, came from beside the creek at the back of our lot. First hubby dug them up and brought them up the hill, one by one, in a child's wagon.

Ferns are common growing wild south of here, but still in Ohio. The difference is that area was always woods. (also un-glaciated) This area was farm or grazing land. My property is re-established woods other than a few of the biggest trees, that was started by the original owner. Guess he never got around to the ferns... lol

They should be deer resistant, but you haven't met my deer.

That is Wonderful! All those plants for $20 and so many ferns. I love ferns but haven't had any in a while. I had some beautiful Japanese Painted ferns, and there was a summer I should have relocated them, but I didn't...and then I broke my ankle and didn't get to keep them watered like they needed and that was that. :-/ There are ferns spaced all throughout areas here and I do love them.

I'm having a time (not a good time) with my peppers. I've grown bell (green) peppers before. They've always bushed out, flowered and either the flowers fall off or the fruit sets from the not fallen off flower. Then they grow to a size like that in grocery stores. IF I wanted "red" peppers, I have let the green (big size) peppers stay on the bush until it turned red, or what I thought would be considered maturing.

WELL...these little peppers have slowly been growing, but still they were growing despite the fact not a plant has even had a thought of a flower. In the last couple of days I've realized those LITTLE peppers are turning red!!! WTH one of them even has a little hole.

One of the tomato plants didn't make it. The other 3 are growing and are ok...barely ok. 3 plants and have 2 tomatoes. The plant not producing does at least have flowers...and the flowers aren't falling off. They are just hanging there and then eventually drying up/closing up. smh

Its a great thing I wasn't counting on these plants producing food in a serious way. good grief

I've got two Japanese Painted Fern... One established from last year and another I planted this spring... They are doing great.

One of the pepper plants I got, a Bell III or someshyt, had a pepper on it when I got it. After I planted it the pepper got sun damaged on one side. Night before last someone decided it was "food" tore it up and spit out the pieces. lol

Most of the peppers I got are sweet banana or colored Bell of some sort... They were cheap and experimental for the garden. I've never grown food crop here so they are just filling space in the herb/flower garden in back.

Getting ready to go to walmart.

One thing that's funny about it is that it doesn't really matter what you wear; does it?

I should dress outrageously and try to make into "People Of Walmart".

I'm on my way back from vacation and am feeling the post vacation blues already. I never really understood people who say things like, "I'm so glad to be home" or "I cant wait to sleep in my own bed" after a trip. I could travel 365 days a year and be perfectly content. I always hate coming back home.

...but where did you go? You must have had a good time (otherwise you would be glad to go back :-D)!

I think I spent all day driving... Most of it anyways. Went one way to place my prescription refill, then back passed my house to go back and get more plants. Then back home and dropped those off before going to do other shopping near where the pharmacy is... Then groceries and get my meds.... I think I started around 9:00 this morning and it was 4:20 when I was pulling down the driveway... No smoke to celebrate that though.

Yes, their cat food is the best priced cat food we can get.

We went to Dollar General, pharmacy. gas, tractor supply, tobacco store, and Walmart. Big trip!

The tractor supply store was so awesome, though. http://www.tractorsupply.com/?cm_mmc%3DSEM-_-Google-_-Brand-_-TSCFreeShipStore&gclid=CjwKEAjwzN27BRDFn9aAwLmH2yISJABWuEXcjjGXjouBlf1CprGGq5H9wssepy7C00Wnp7OzndZknhoCCeLw_wcB
