Tractor Supply is alright... Mostly cheap China stuff though. Last thing I got there was that Birch tree clump. Before that was quite a few months ago, I got a welding mask/helmet on sale.

Stopped at a garage sale today.... Got a couple of old/vintage/whatever power tools. Got several things at ReStore too. (all this stuff is still in the car.) :dizzy2:

Had to buy an air compressor too... Cheapo new one from Walfart, but hopefully it lasts awhile.

I went in to get something for the kitten's runny eye. I was impressed; especially with the injectibles they have for animals. We had a great time in the hardware.

Since the plug-in receptacle in my little bedroom area began sparking when I (BRIEFLY) plugged in the air-conditioner several months ago, I haven't had an air conditioner. Like you have said earlier, Aeri, its all about timing...I let up the window in here around this time of the night and around mid-morning I pull the window back down. All of that is to say that I constantly have a little fan that blows on the bed. Brownie Brown has discovered that is the very best place in the world to be. It is a smooth surface and he can lie right in front of the fan all spread out on his smooth place. lol

There is one single window unit in a room (that is not used) that does work...no receptacle problems, etc. Around now I turn off that unit, and several hours from now, if I'm awake (which I most probably will be) I will raise windows throughout the house while The Mother is asleep. Then, back to timing, immediately upon arising I pull back down windows.

My son described her thought process perfectly: "Grandma doesn't want ANY outside air in and she doesn't want any inside air to get out". To get around this...timing is everything. :)

Lynn, you probably need to change the outlet boxes.

Like I said, if I had an attic fan here, I'd be in trouble. I'd pull in so much moisture with the cool air.

We have an attic fan, but hell you need to OPEN THE DOOR AND WINDOWS for it to do any good. lol

Mama usually 1st goes to sleep on the couch and then goes to her room around 10:30. However, IF I were to turn on the attic fan, not only would there only be 2 or maybe 3 windows she would "allow" open without significant bitching, the fan HAS to be turned off by 11. yep  I used to wait until her grumpy ass was asleep and turn it on...but damn if she wouldn't 99% of the time wake right back up and after bitching and moaning on and on and on turn it off.

    You're a saint, Lynn.

Your mother and I would constantly bump heads and it would get ugly!

LOL! Mama is literally the only person I don't say just exactly what want to say, and that is BECAUSE she can't fucking hear!!!! [IMG]

I'm laughing to keep from :bigcry: . sort of

I DO write things down for her when it is absolutely necessary for her to have to understand. Other than that...its just 2 or 3 words at a time.

My brother told me this year that me "talking mean to Mama" upset him. :D Thing is: I honestly wasn't talking mean...you just have to repeat things so many times and get increasingly louder and higher pitched that I guess it sounded mean. This is where I know I'm changing - I Did Not Give A Shit what he thought. lol

edit: He also wasn't volunteering to spend any extra time with her nor did he deign it necessary to try and tell or explain things to her himself. ;)

I'm in so much pain with my ankle. It hurts even at rest. I didn't injure it. I'm wearing an ace ankle brace and trying not to walk much. I think I'll get some ice on it after I change over the loads of laundry.

I need a cortisone shot. Why can't we have those across the counter? Did I see any at the feed store yesterday? I'd be so tempted to do one at home.

We had some bbq and hots dogs with my son's family last night; and set off some small fireworks he'd bought.

He has to work on Monday so they wanted to their celebrating last night.

I hate to hear that about your ankle, Aeri. I'd say keep it elevated as much as possible as well as keep that brace on it.

Even though it was my left one that was broken, my right one tends to hurt just as often, if not more often. The humidity down south is probably not good for anybody with bone or joint issues.

I'm So Grateful for the ankle braces that the Dollar Trees have here. I have (since 2013) bought I don't know how many pairs, and they really are good. I have this cream that is made from: arnica, hypericum, calendula and peppermint. I slather this on my ankle, put on a sock and then that brace. (The brace I have is made from a type of material that I need to wear it over a sock or it irritates my skin.) It always helps. When I was working for McD's wearing a brace on both ankles wound up being part of my uniform, and my ankles were pain free for the most part.

I also slather this cream when the need arises on my neck, back or down the leg with the sciatic nerve starts.

    Thanks.

I'll have to look for those braces, Lynn.

I have creams I can try but I'm not moving or touching it right now.

I had it calmed down because I'm using the cane to walk; then I put the son of a bitching ice on it and started moaning in pain again. I think the weight of the ice bag set it off.

It is angry as fuck and I don't know what it is. Maybe bursitis.

Dear hubby heard me moaning, brought me a hydrocodone, and demanded I take it....Okay...Thanks Dude...

lol...nobody would have to demand I take a hydrocodone ;) seeing as I would probably be asking for one.

Ice has never once helped a single ache for me, even though Every Single Time I've ever broken a bone that is what I'm told is the be all to end all.

I know Ty hates ice. He says it makes him hurt.

Usually, my arthritic knees will like ice but not this damn foot/ankle.

I'm now in the "don't get up" jail. Hubby is actually doing small things for me. I'll have to deal with my clothes when they come out of the dryer but I can rest for now.

At the feed store look for DMSO... It's still used as a horse liniment but not approved for humans. Of course it works really well for bad joints in humans, that's probably why it not approved. Because it works.

You might find it online too.

Something he was fiddling with didn't go his way so he is back to his usual bitchy self now.

I remember my daddy trying that stuff way back when. That's a good idea.

Planted two Dwarf Alberta Spruce, edged, put down newspaper and woodchips on the "new" beds surrounding them. Trying to clean up some of the weedy look in the back yard right up against the house.

I'm on my third load of laundry but I feel like I'm sitting way too much.

I know the neighbors will go wild with fireworks in a little while. They blew up two examples last night and they were good ones.

I don't really know that those same people will but I'm hoping because they are the closest to us. There will be lots because their are 3 neighborhoods near each other now. Use to be, we were the only pitiful little half full neighborhood out here in the middle of the country.

I've got to feed the outdoor kitties before all hell breaks loose.

    Meh -

We sat in the driveway and watched some folks from the other neighborhood do their fireworks display.

We got bored and came inside, then closer neighbors started shooting theirs.

Hell, I was already inside - so inside that I was inside a closet hanging clothes. I wasn't going back outside.

I think someone shot a hole in the clouds because it started sprinkling rain. ;)
