My grandfather used to insist that it rains every July 5th because of how heavy the fireworks make the air. He is right about 75% of the time since I been keeping track.

Lots of times I remember it storming on the 4th. It was like a curse or something, where you couldn't go to swim, cookout, or watch fireworks because of it.

I just cut grass. I think i may have actually came close to heat exhaustion, felt funny for a while there. Its really effing hot!

I actually didnt cut grass per se, our grass hasnt grown in a couple of weeks and is turning yellow. But i did go around the yard with the lawn mower and cut the dandelions.

I hope you'll take it easy the rest of the day and super-hydrate! This heat is nothing to play around with!

    This fucking foot!

It was feeling lots better this morning. I was walking around normally with just a little tenderness to remind me. I thought I had gotten it under control.

I noticed it getting a little more tender so I ate and took my 800 mg. ibuprofen.

Within 20 minutes it got so fucked up that when I tried to stand and walk, I couldn't.

I had my cane right be the desk where I stood up from and that didn't even help.

I got a few steps from the desk and literally almost couldn't get back to the desk chair.

    Fuck.

Pretty much overcast here. I just got home from visiting my brother. Saw lots of birds and deer today and one squirrel scarfing up all the birdseed that was on the ground. They are predicting rain here. Maybe they won't do fireworks tonight. I live two blocks from where they set them off. Good thing since I really need to get some sleep tonight.

Are they pretty hardy in cold climates? I dont exactly live in a cold climate but it does drop below freezing at least a few times in the winter and I planted some boston ferns this spring but they'll die after the first frost. I wish i had kept them as house plants and planted a different kind of fern

Yeah Japanese Painted Fern is a perennial in zones 5 through 8.... zone 4 with heavy composted leaves piled on them in the fall.

    Boston are an indoor plant.

I really wanted to plant a few ferns one day and they were all i could find in a pinch. Theyre doing good outside but will probably try to repot and bring inside in the fall.

I can't have house plants with all these cats.

They even climb up wherever I try to hide the Pineapple plant inside during the Winter and gnaw on it.

I wish I could have plants in here. I really miss that alot.

I've got a lot of house plants... Spooky leaves them alone for the most part because they are "yucky"... Others are in hanging baskets.

Oh, and I planted 3 Zinnias and a Veronica out front, then fertilized the huge Juniper in the meditation garden... It's under-planted so much of the fertilizer will end up with the Ferns and Hostas more than the shrub. That's okay it's thriving anyways.

    Still waiting on rain. [IMG]

The hanging plants would work! I'd forgotten about doing it that way.

I think they'd dig the dirt out of potted plants even if they didn't care for the leaves.

    Thanks, Ty!
