What's Happening?

No, I haven't been swimming.

My kitten has the gunked up eyes so if I didn't catch it from her, I may have caught something out of the bathroom at the ballpark last week. It was world series and there were hundreds of people there using the facilities. I was sweating and probably used toilet paper to dab my face while I was in the stall and hadn't washed my hands from everything everyone touched in there.

Today is the worst day of the heat wave so far.....It is in the 90's...air is stifled and it is hard to breathe out there...They have issued advisories and warnings. i am not sure I can take dogs today....I might have to go it alone here if I can stand it.
These temperatures make me miserable....

I got CareCredit approved on line and went to the Eye Doctor.

I have a bacterial infection in my eye, plus a busted blood vessel. She was concerned that my blood pressure had busted the blood vessel. It was 182/82.

I have Ciproflaxacin eye drops to use 4 times a day.

 

That was quick....

 

It all came together like it was supposed to be.

 

182/82?! Are you taking anything for that? Meditating?

My doctor found it more like 150 over something a few weeks ago and told me to monitor it.

I know I'm having more caffeine and more nicotine than ever before. I'm sure I need to bring those back down.

Plus, pain makes my blood pressure go up.

 

Yay, just one drop of that 4 times a day antibiotic and my eye didn't weld shut when I napped!

 

180 is dangerously high! Are you feel worse pain lately(edit - worse pain in addition to your eye)?

 

I was not in bad pain today. The eye wasn't even painful. I had been in some bad pain with my foot but that was several days before.

I did drink a cup of espresso on the way to the eye appointment.

I hesitate to pursue this with the m.d. before I start vacation because I know if I go on blood pressure medication it needs lots of tweaking in the beginning.

I leave for a week vacation on the 16th. Then I'm home for a week and leave again for another week on the 30th.

 

I hope your vacation helps bring your blood pressure down.

As for news here, it is another roasting day, and I noticed that many of the streams and creeks here that feed the Hudson River are drying up. I have not seen them this dry for a few years...the geese I always see near one of the streams have not been there the last few days....I wonder about the frogs and turtles and what they do.......The other day......i saw in one of the puddles still in one of the bigger streams two huge fish...and they were huge...one was orange and one was white, but they seemed to be a pair. I watched them to see if they were alive, and they were...but barely paddling with their fins.

Hot and humid today...


Poison ivy patrol, got about 3/4 of the maintained areas. The rest will have to happen Saturday or Sunday. I know there some big stuff on the other side of the driveway but I can hardly get back into that area.

It may rain here today. I hope so.

 

I wish for rain for 3 straight days...i do not care about any power outages we may get because of that....
The problem here now is that it might rain for 5 minutes and then the sun is out again making anything that did fall into more steam and humidity.

 

I think the raccoon are leaving me gifts because I let them eat cat food. I know our stream is dried up. My son checked.
