This evening I was sitting outside an I saw this little baby sparrow out in the lawn... Too young to fly but fully feathered. It's mother and father were leading it over towards the weeds along the fence as a safe place to spend the night. It had jumped the nest to soon. Hope it's okay in the morning.

I hope the baby sparrow is ok in the morning, too.....
Glad to see you back, Aeri....and thanks about Moxy. It has been a week of hell for me and her.....and i still cannot relax. I know things could get worse again with her.....and things just aren't the same around here.
I got out a littl e while tonight to go eat. I had sushi, a seaweed salad and tons of wasabi that cleared all of my sinuses and then some...justa little...no, I have to put big gobs of wasabi on everything...that was fun.... :D

Anyway, I hope when you get untired you let us know about your trip before you go again...lol

Pumpkin ice pops were a big hit....not....Sully, the golden ate his, though....the pugs...nah....OK, then I guess you won't get any snacks today, because you are not getting any sugared things anymore....bananas....not too big on them, either, although Einstein did have one little piece earlier...

Thanks, Heather.....Moxy used to eat carrots...maybe she will again someday....when they realize there will be no more cookies or things like that. anymore, someday.

Pinterest has recipes for baking pumpkin dog treats.

Also you can bake sweet potato slices for them.

On Wednesday evening we went here

    And rode this

Out to see these, up close

Then we anchored and the kids snorkeled. We collected a gallon-size baggie full of shells and saw these

On Friday, I had the triplets in the ocean with me while the others were gone to the ballpark.

Brooke got stung by a jellyfish and it looked like this, but on her forearm.

We went to the pool and the welts went down. It didn't bother her anymore, thankfully!

We used to spend the summer at seaside heights when I was a kid. I remember many of times having jellyfish fights with my sisters. You can never tell which ones were going to be one that stings.

I've never been stung but I know they can be extremely painful and cause problems. I was worried but stayed very calm. She did great. She didn't even cry. She did want to text her mommy but I told her to wait and let's try to not worry her while she was at the ballpark.

I think we were very fortunate that it took care of itself with no problems.

I went to watch several of the games my oldest granddaughter played in the world series in Destin. The triplets really hated being at the ballpark so I kept them at the beach and condo with me for several of the games.

The team ended tied for 6th Place out of 43 teams!

there are some jellyfish that are dangerous but i am pretty sure none of them are native to north america, the ones i have seen leave a rash for a few hours and thats about it. maybe i will google it later when i have downtime. i remember reading about the man o war when i was a kid. that scared me more than jaws when it came to going in the water.

I remember the man o wars all over Daytona when I was a teenager.

There seemed to be a jellyfish season.

The big clear disc ones were the most prevalent in the Daytona area.

We didn't see any jellyfish while in the surf, or on the beach, at Ft. Walton. It totally took me by surprise.

Oh, wow, happiness is seeing some photos from what looks like a wonderful vacation, Aeri. I am glad the jelly fish sting did not turn out to be too serious.....I would have flipped seeing that dolphin......myself.... :D

It has not been drama free here this morning. Is it ever? lol
I was upstairs after feeding Moxy and giving her morning shot, and told Stan, since he was down stairs, to keep an eye on her until I came back downstairs. I like to keep an eye on her after each shot for at least an hour.
He starts screaming,..."Oh, no! Moxy just pee'd on the blanket and it is pink!"
The blanket I have on the floor next to my computer desk is white now for the dogs, and Moxy usually goes outside to pee, but lately, she is having accidents inside. Of course, I started imagining the worst, too....Oscar cat started pee'ing blood before he died, and he had diabetes......

I came downstairs.....looked myself, and saw it wa a very light champagne pink type of color......We called our vet's cell phone number, as the office is closed today, and got an answering machine......so thank goodness for my neighbor vet, who is here today, next door, who we called next. She said it was most likely a bladder infection, which is common for animals with diabetes.......and it was not an emergency, but to get a pee sample from Moxy to bring into our usual vet, etc......
She and I spoke about many things about this condition, and I learned what to feed Moxy...as well as all of the dogs now.....
    rabbit
    duck
    turkey

    no other meats...no chicken, etc....

    green beans
    spinach
which are cooling foods for bladder infections and good for all of the dogs...
    portebella mushrooms

She is very calming. I love this woman, and asked her when she is going to open her practice here from NYC....as i want her as my vet...She uses both holitistic and western....and common sense from all ...which is what i want.
She has helped many times before...moxy giving birth...champy getting part of his ear bitten off from a Siberian huskey once....etc.....

She calmed me down. She made sense.
    She is excellent.

Afterwards, my vet called back and said to pick up a bladder infection medicine at the office at 4 today.....no urine sample needed...this is common...as she said, as well...

My neighbor asked me if they gave us urine swab sticks, and i said...."NO..." She also asked what kind of diet they put Moxy on, and i told them none...just to feed her her regular stuff....so that is when she stepped in and told me what to feed her. Thank you to the heavens......Thank you, my wonderful neighbor....

She will be moving her practice here in about 4 years, and i told her....all my animals will be her patients....and she laughed., but I meant it.

I will be making my own turkey stews with spincach and green beans and mushrooms. I won't be cooking rabbit, though, so i will look for some canned rabbit and duck things at my holistic feeding for pets store....

Thanks, Moonie. Those aren't my pics as I didn't take my expensive camera and my phone camera is shit. I grabbed those pics off line from other people who've made the same tour on the same boat, lol.

I'm glad you got that wonderful helpful insight into Moxy's condition.

When I make homemade cat food I also put spinach in it. The cats love it.

Aeri, nice to see pics from your holiday. It looks like it was fun!! :)
Those stings can be really bad. Happy that she was ok and it did not cause her to have the holiday ruined for her.

I have a few bulbs for lilies that I bought on sale as the end of the season thing is here, I am going to plant them later when it cools down a bit. Should have enough time to root and hopefully bloom next year.

I was just talking to someone recently about how I have not seen a jellyfish since I was a kid. Now I don't go to the beach as often but I have been there plenty of times in my adult life and it is almost like they went extinct up here.

My irises and lilies have to be separated this year. The iris won't bloom due to the overcrowding. I'll wait until late September.

They may be going that way. Who knows with all the radiation and corexit in the waters.

Because of my tight vacation budget, I only went out to eat once on vacation. My son made a great find. It had very good reviews from the locals.

They had local art for sale.

This had $185 price tag on it.

We went at lunch time and I had 8 large fried shrimp, hush puppies, cole slaw, and a drink for $11. It was very good!
