If I could make a living teaching people to surf, I'd opt out of adult life and just do it.

I would love to be in the position to teach people. Anyone can teach someone to surf--the proper paddle technique, how to pop up, whether they are good or regular footed.

But hardly anyone teaches the culture--the love and appreciation of it. So many people who learn want to be the next Laird Hamilton or Kelly Slater. It's all about the mechanics. But if I was teaching people? It would be about the beauty. The grace. I wouldn't want students who wanted to conquer the wave--carvers with dollar signs in their eyes. I'd want students who were blank canvases, students I could mould into people who danced with the wave, made love to it. Worked with it, instead of against it.

I'd want to nurture the passion; not teach the sport.

 

What's happening everyone?!!

I'm losing my mind! Seriously though, it's as if I've overwhelmed it with too much information and it's just slowly starting to die on me. It's really the weirdest thing! I've never been at such a loss before. But it's not all bad. And sometimes some stuff gets through. But like right now, I'm not sure I'll even remember this post tomorrow. Nah, nah, not quite that bad, but just feel like...well,...geez. See?! done! kaput! I think I need to go to bed! Ohhh!!!

Oh yes, so I'm emotional all during the days, not quite moody as I had been over the past few weeks or months, but emotional thinking about stuff and then I just try to distract myself from it or obsess about it (omg! bleh! stop!) and that keeps me from here. I would be checking in more often, but I just get distracted and I want to have clear purpose when I stop by, here or anywhere, because...because my mind is just so dumb and I don't need to get myself all anxious again worrying about some dumb thing I say. ha! I know folks here are cool and just look the other way, and sorry for breaking the fourth wall again (I do love to pretend I'm quite the badass, but it's not always feeling so cool up in my head. anyway...) anyway...woa-oh!! too much thinking!!

I took windsurfing lessons once. That guy sucked. Mostly learned it by myself in the end. Never became really good at it (unless the wind was just right, but yeah you also need to return at some point )

I found windsurfing too intensive of an activity to be a real blast multiple times. Its only fun for me with the right wind and a destination on the other side of the lake. Going against it or sideways is the art and where the skill is at, but yeah.. it didn't come naturally enough for me and didn't like it enough to do it on a regular basis (which is needed for max. fun)

 

What kind of car did you buy?

 

A Toyota Corolla. A nice dependable mom sedan

I am way too practical to purchase anything but a Toyota. You just can't go wrong. They don't break down, you have minimal repair costs. I guess they aren't as fun as some other vehicles, but fun wears off.
