My big girl just got an i.v. started with Morphine.

We just heard that it is her Appendix and that it will be coming out.

She's got the worst of it behind her now that she's hooked up to the morphine.

They will get it out later tonight.



Edit: Yeah, getting that thing out in about an hour.

Took a shower and now I feel like going to bed... Except it's only 9:30 and my hair is all wet.



I only slightly over did it today....



Okay, slightly shouldn't be in that sentence.

 

I occasionally go to bed with my hair wet but I don't like to.

 

My granddaughter was coming out from under the anesthesia and told the doctor and nurses that she wanted to "see her baby" because she was under the impression that they had "pulled a baby out of her belly button".

 

I know... not funny, but I lol'ed.

 

the ac works, the computer works, the rent is paid, and i only have to go outside when i get low on groceries. not a purrfect life, but one i can live with.
i can wish the outside was a forest instead of a parking lot.
remaining less then purrfect details are more about the world and the consensus of other people that make it that way then anything to do with me.
and that's never going to be purrfect of course, but it can always get better.

there was that picnic a week ago, with the few people i actually know, which is kind of minimal that i actually know any of them.
good people, whatever that means.

there i go wishing again, but i sure wish i could turn all the streets and parking lots into gardens, and enough little odd transportation things that people wouldn't need them for cars.
even just the ones where i live would be ok.

i actually like going outside, once i'm out there. just where i live, there's not a whole lot of positive incentive for me to do so.
i don't like the summer sun though. no offense to luug intended. it could be spring and fall all year, with only a couple of days for summer.
i'd like that. winter could be longer if it wanted to, but not as long as spring or fall.

I've got to sit with the triplets while my son runs a softball tryout; then take the triplets to their tryouts.

We're trying to get the oldest granddaughter home from the hospital. My son has jury duty tomorrow and his wife says she can't miss work.

Of course, we could go sit with her at the hospital but I think her parents are trying to convince her that she's going to be in pain no matter where she is.

Her mom says she told the doctor that she felt terrible - that her mom had to feed her and that she could only barely walk holding onto her mother. Her mother says that's not the case. She says she ate on her own and got up and walked around a little bit. Her mom says she's just trying to "milk this" for attention.

I told them the doctors would let her go after she pooped and if she didn't poop they could give her a suppository. I bet that will get her home.

 

Paid well over $20 for a meat lover's pizza. I couldn't believe how expensive it was. Holy crap though there is a lot of meat on there. You can't see anything besides the crust because every single spec of it has a pile of bacon, beef, or sausage on it. Just had one slice and it filled me up.
Yeah it's still expensive but for what's on it...it is a fair price.

 

My granddaughter is home from the hospital. I'm about to go see her.

 

It's cooler out today, (snicker/snicker) but not really. I did some trimming earlier and push mowing until I ran out of gas.... The mower ran out of gas too. Good timing, that.


I got 7 more cheap bags of mulch today. (not to be confused with "bags of cheap mulch") Yesterday I got 9 bags of stone to finish the spillway in the mediation garden and spread that. This afternoon/evening I need to put down that mulch I got today and the spillway will be done. I need to mulch around the stone bench, finish planting some ferns, and that will be 1/2 of that garden done. There's more stone path to build, a curved wooden bridge over the spillway, a "mountain", the cairn of the ancients..... Yeah, second half will be as complicated as the first 1/2. By time it's done I will either have a place to meditate or be dead... one or the other.



Still have to paint the vintage "mid century modern" range hood for the kitchen remodel. The most changes are going to be around the stove and sink area so that's where I'm gonna start.
