We had a 5.3 a couple weeks ago. Was having lunch with a client and it suddenly felt like I was on a boat.

    Meh.

It's The Big One lurking out there that scares me. SoCal is overdue for a large earthquake. We strengthened the house this fall, have our disaster kits in our cars and in the house. Other than that, nothing much else anyone can do about it.

We had a tiny earthquake here once and it was the strangest sensation ever. I cant imagine feeling that and much worse on the regular

Can you even prepare for an earthquake? Hurricanes are annoying but the weather reports warn way in advance and track the path. It seems like earthquakes come out of nowhere.

ive experienced two here in Pgh. Once in high school, I was the only one to notice because I was spaced out looking at the lamps on the ceiling and they moved .. another a few years ago..

Had an ultrasound today (not pregnant) on my leg and on my aorta which was replaced 10 years ago. He said everything's OK--see you in a year!! Alrighty then.

I was in my exs sisters house in LA years ago. I was sitting down and the sisters were in the kitchen. Everything started jumping around and shaking--I jumped up and ran in the kitchen and said --LET'S GO!! Sister--LA resident just said -"oh, don't worry--just an earthquake." Well , that's what my ex said that her sister said--I didn't hear it--I was out in the middle of the street!! WE had one here a while back--shook pretty good. What I'm worried about is the Pacific Subduction Zone. This area is due for what has been predicted as ------------- 9 on the Richter scale. THAT WILL LEVEL EVERYTHING HERE! I believe that's what Japan had.

I experienced an earth tremor a few times.

When those boys get their V8s wound up around Talladega the stands moved. When I sat high in the Mile High Stadium with Broncos, all the fans started stomping the ground and the whole stadium shook. :p

My mom had her colonoscopy today, her tumor is huge...7cm and they also removed several polyps

But they said so far there's no sign of it in any other organs so thats a huge relief

Were they able to remove just the tumor or did they have to remove a section of his colon?

Both of those sound bad...along with everything Murphy said he would do in NJ. There will be a whole new Murphy's law by the time this douche bag is done fucking the state.

Gosh...I'm trying to remember...I don't remember talk of the colon section so maybe just the tumor. This was back in 1984 so it's hard for me to remember the details. I know he didn't have any chemo or radiation and it never came back.

    Mel...
Sorry to hear about this..... so scary.
My mom had close to the same size and luckily her pathology came back benign.

That's relieving news, and hope that she continues to have good scans.

Is it cancer? Some tumors are not so bad. Cancer is of course :( For all its worth: my mom had cancer twice and smoked like crazy (cigs :p) and is alive and kicking! Most amazing though is that she quit smoking! :D But those times of uncertainty are shitty of course...

Glad it hasn't spread, but sorry to hear it's a large tumor. Are they going to be able to remove it?
