Yeah it was actually supposed to be an outpatient surgery, i guess the dr thought he could do a clean slice and get the tumor out easily but ended up having to cut into her colon wall and admit her to the hospital to have a temporary ileostomy done. But no cancer so this will be behind her soooon, yay

My daughter is staying busy visiting with friends she hasn't been able to spend anytime with since she moved an hour away but she gets lonely when she's by herself.

She called me while she was on the road to leave one friend and to go spend the night with another. She said she misses her wife and home - that she just wants to go home and make it all better. I cried after we hung up.

I told her that I knew she did but that I also knew her wife had things to work on to make things better - that my daughter couldn't fix everything that had gone wrong by herself.

She said she knew that but she just wanted to go home and work on making things better together and to tell her wife how she feels.

I know she does but I see that she believes she can talk to her wife and it will make things better... No, actually, I firmly believe that her wife would have to go into a an alcohol rehab center for many weeks to begin to make things better.

I didn't say that to her while she was driving but I will as soon as I get a chance. Maybe tomorrow evening.

This literally makes my heart ache.

 

They could definitely use some time apart. Counselling maybe?

Yes.

A couple of months ago they talked about going to counseling because of the issues they have with the wife's father and brother disowning her due to her "lifestyle".

My daughter said she couldn't get the wife to actually go after they decided that they needed to.

My daughter wanted to go to deal with the anger she felt seeing her wife that hurt by her father. She said that it was beyond any anger she'd ever felt when she saw her wife crying about it.

It just never happened so I am going to talk to my daughter about it.

i always thought everyone did. but i work with a guy who claims to be "one of the rare people who can eat pizza hot, warm or cold." he's made me reevaluate my pizza assumptions, because i had grown up thinking that every person on earth could eat pizza at any temperature.

 

If i eat pizza or any type of pasta it has to be hot.

When I was younger the thought of cold pizza really turned me off and my miss was saying how good it was so I think when I moved out of home with her I tried it once and omg. It was awesome! So I don't mind a cold slice if it's on the go but I wouldn't sit there and eat multiple cold slices, I'd heat that up. If I'm munching though and in the fridge, slip my hand in grab a slice off I go, it works.

 

ok, i stand corrected. you three are literally the first three people i've ever encountered who publicly dislike cold pizza.
