What's Happening???

I dont know that it is a good thing in terms of absences. If a student can make good grades with a bad attendance record then more power to them says I, lol. But i guess the idea is that you have to have good attendance to hold down a job

I think it is a good idea if a student is really struggling academically though. Rather than let them go on to a year of increasingly difficult material they are given a refresher year. Makes sense to me

I was never held back but I failed chemistry once and had to take it again. I made an A the 2nd time around and really enjoyed it. Sometimes I just think just having a different teacher the second go round can make a huge difference

 

I've learned this with Computer Programming in recent years. I hate to turn it into a cultural thing but the resources I've used from India have been a lot better in helping me understand programming compared to most the US resources. Given the nature of the respective resources, I'm slightly oversimplifying things here but needless to say there is a stark contrast.

Aaah. That's given me a different perspective.. I think I always saw it more as.. not quite a punishment, but a bit in that direction.
Or at least, something that was looked down on which would make kids try harder. Seeing it as just.. some need more time (or a different teacher) on a subject, that makes more sense. I think it's a good idea.

 

The granddaughter is okay. At most she wasn't feeling well because of her monthly.

My grandson got into the urologist today. They put him on the medication Flomax to help him pass the kidney stone. Hopefully it will work for him.
