I'm playing hooky from boxing class on Tuesday nights till February 26th.

I've been taking comedy classes 101 from a place by me called Comedy Sportz. I'm learning Improvisation games and techniques.

The whole getting up on the stage , lights and people watching me doesn't bother me at all......its coming up with things on the fly to make people laugh. It's so unpredictable but hence the act......Improvisation..

The first 2 weeks have been ALOT of getting used to. Most of my other classmates (12) are really good. They use good body mechanics and some use funny voices too.

Last Tuesday night I kinda hinted to my comedy instructor Jordan that I'm pondering not to continue and dropping out of the 8 week course of 101. Jordan said "No Pete.....you bring value to the class....you said some really funny stuff tonight....dont leave"

Her saying that gave me my confidence back and shattered any thoughts of quitting.....

One of my best friends is in town and staying overnight at my place from Saturday into Sunday.

We'll find a party to go to on Saturday night
Grab some breakfast on Sunday morning. Say goodbye.

Then Sunday afternoon I'm constructing two huge styrofoam lollipop props for my dance skit "Candyman"

I think I found the restaurant we're going to for lunch.

I'm glad it's an all you can eat buffet with lots of stuff on it.

I'll have choices... Yay.

I'm not very happy about going. I mean I've got mixed feelings. Hubby is really torn up about his brother-in-law's illness.

Their thing over my hubby's lifetime has been going to eat catfish. Charlie taught hubby how to eat catfish and they've had many good times stuffing themselves with it over the years..

It looks like today may be the last time they do that in this lifetime.

I'm going to "let" hubby do the driving today. It's probably and hour and a half each way.
His driver's license is expired but he needs the task of making this drive to keep his mind occupied.

Hope they're still as good as a decade ago! Never a given in metal in my experience.. but i especially like some older Ensiferum stuff.

Folk metal fan crowds are the best crowds! Although heavy metal fans in front of the right band going crazy are just as great. I love how they always take care of eachother in a moshpit: someone goes down and some big stranger will pick them up before they get trampled

 

Do folk metal singers do the growly voice thing?

I can get into metal with no vocals or real vocals...cant do the metal scream though

But folk metal sounds like something I might want to try to get me through this work day

 

Far from always. But some of my fav folk metal contains a lot of black metal influences (and vice versa!), which often includes typical bm vocals.

Have you ever clicked on an Otyg vid I shared? That's a good example of scandinavian folk metal without bm vocals

I'm studying Ableton Live and it's truly an amazing thing. Although I only have the introductory version of the software, the computers at school are loaded with lots of fun software instruments. It's like yesterday I knew nothing and today I'm recording! I know that's so cheeseball, but what a neat course!

 

I'm seriously thinking about taking lessons for a musical instrument I've had on the brain.....BUT I gots to get this Animation series done first.
