So, do you think I should switch back to Spring Break (April) or is May better? I honestly don't want to go for the partying... But at any rate, I've already sort of let myself get used to the idea of going in May instead. I think it will be ok in May.

Just registered for doubles trials with my pool team friend, Shane. it is played next weekend. I'm kind of hoping for a Saturday slot so I can get on it Saturday night. If not I'll just have to get on it on Friday night, Friday night is my birthday. we were meant to go for a weekend to a pet hostel in the country estates like a cute cottage and you're allowed to bring your dog, but we can't because of pool trials. 2 years ago we ended up making it all the way to the final weekend, last year I think we got knocked out first round.

I do not particularly like playing doubles because my partner has a different style to me, so if he's giving me advice on what to do, it's like.. Yeah that's cool... But I can't do that lol. So we basically now just play our own game, when it comes to the end of the game and we need strategy we might talk.

He usually sets everything up so that I can just come along and what I do best, pot out.

Doubles is also not as serious so it's a bit more fun but it still reflects ranking points so it is serious to me.

I got an new addiction to chess.

Chess imitates life.

The king represents you. It is the main piece that cannot die. All the pieces work for the king.

The queen is the most powerful piece. Why? Because she has the power of a rook and a bishop. The type of woman you have in your life can make or break you as a man. A woman who is supportive and has your back every step of the way helps pave your way to success. If she’s disloyal she can ruin your life.

Rooks are your brothers or sisters. The are the 2nd most powerful pieces. They are great for applying pressure to enemy pieces. And they make some of the best body guards. My brother has my back, and my sister does too.

Knights and bishops are your close friends. Friends that help you strategize success together with. A good friend is someone who will help you advance yourself professionally through job referrals and business partnerships. A good friend will help you conquer the world.

Pawns are your employees. They are disposable yet important pieces. Pawns take one for the team the most often. And if a pawn is good enough, it will make it to the end of the board and get promoted to becoming a better piece.

I used to play chess when I was a kid. I remember one day I was in class room with my friend against teacher at lunch playing and we went about 20mins over lunch and we ended up besting him too. After that he started a chess club. My parents bought me a electronic chess board for Xmas once. I played on computer during high school.

I met a guy online, from Newfoundland Canada, a big know it all I met on a Goth site. Kinda like Asmo. And I versed him after he challenged me on yahoo and tried to make a big scene about it on the forums. I even let him take a turn back during the match that was crucial to him and I still bested him. He refuse to play me again. Derreke was his name. Cocksucker.

I haven't played for years now. I have a cool medieval pewter chess set when the pieces are like knights and real looking pewter. I've never had a match on it. I also have a wooden board. I think it might be ceder. It has a distinct smell.

Most people play 30min time matches but I prefer not to play with time, it forces you to think quickly, but not carefully. I'm a strategist, I see chess no different to pool in a lot of ways. Someone asked me one day at pool whether or not I ever played chess. I said yes and he said it shows. He could see me reading the table like a chess board.

It's always nice to work for someone who considers you disposable. Really makes you want to try your best.

 

I tried the chess over a distance thing as well (on the PC). Not for me. Sounded good at the time but I found out I just wanna play chess in person.
I almost always play chess with one specific friend, which creates a particular kind of game as we know eachothers tactic true abd true lol
But i have not a lot of other people to play with. We always smoke a doob (or more) during our chess chill sessions, which is such a good pastime playing chess sober seems less good to me
