I'm not sure if this represents the beginning of a shift in attitudes toward popular music, the last gasps of generation(s) that grew up on buying albums via physical mediums or the best evidence that we live in a simulation and a glitch in The Matrix but in a time when pop and (t)rap dominate the charts...

Tool's newest album Fear Inoculum has debuted at #1 on The Billboard Top 200! The album features only one song under 10 minutes and that song is an instrumental drum solo. :grinning:

    It wasn't you.

There was a post, that's been deleted, and it had 3 of the same huge pics in it.

Shift in attitude is my guess
    And I'm happily surprised

  14. Then you don't realize that everyone who thinks Five Finger Death Punch is the greatest band on Earth also reveres Tool. It's not surprising at all. And music will continue to stagnate.

I haven't even listened to the new Tool
I don't know old Tool for that matter
I based my answer on other factors and I didn't think it was a matrix glitch.
Maybe it's the last gasp one, I admit.

I'd put Aenima as my favourite album of all time

But everything they released after that is elevator music

I consider Lateralus their best album. Listening to it on Acid felt like unlocking an audio portal to the full breadth of human emotions.

I would like to trip to this new album at some point.
