    I feel like a kid who should have screen-time rationing/computer privileges.

    The beach hasn't been in the cards for me this Summer...Still, it would be awesome to steal away for a quick overnighter to Tybee Island before it gets to cold to go in the water.

    I sometimes play over-seerer with myself and say something like I have to do x for y amount of time before I get z amount of time on the computer.

    Same, I haven't gone once. I've wanted to go to this hike/beach place like all summer but just haven't made it happen yet.

    Duh! Of course Santa Mira isn't a real town. Saint Look? WTF was I thinking? God, I'm stupid.

    It's taken me over 20 to translate that name.

    Now, I'm afraid if I go for a long day trip that it will crush me to turn around and leave...

    Code:
    var a;
    let x;
    let y;
    let z = " on the computer.";

    function computerTime(a, x, y, z)
    {
       return "I must complete " + x + y + "before I spend " + a + " amount of time " + z;
    }

    I should probably do something like that with setting aside coding time vs leisure time :sleepy:

    I used to program in BASIC on the Sinclair ZX Spectrum. It was my first computer. Looks a little similar to that. Recently I bought a set of bound copies of "Input" magazine in four volumes from ebay. I can get a second hand Spectrum on ebay but I need an analogue TV. I want to get on the Spectrum again just because I have fond memories of messing around on it as a kid. Totally useless project but there you go.

    C is about as far back as I'll go with programming, that was Javascript that I typed in up there. Many of the languages have similar features to them, which gets me excited to pick up different languages, but I've learned the implementation details of some aspects of different languages can be drastically different.

    Well the Spectrum had 48k RAM and 16k ROM which was absolutely tiny. 8 colours, 8 sounds which were just beeps. It was contemporaneous with the Commodore 64. All the kids at school either had a Spectrum or a Commodore. Tiny backroom programmers made simple games and almost overnight they became more sophisticated and turned into £100,000 companies. The Spectrum hosted one of the first isometric projection 3-D games ever. Then came 3-D wireframe games like "Elite" which is now an online multi-player interactive game on the PC which I would really like to check out. IDK the "Speccy" was such a cute little machine.

    I never played the Commodore 64 but I've seen some art people have made with the graphics and it's actually quite impressive...

    And I remember finding it fascinating that the colors can only be 1 of 2 colors in any particular pixel So something like the above zoomed in is actually like...
