Well howdy again folks. Been a busy last few days. Had a squash harvestin' party on Sunday, bout twenty folks showed up for that, got the entire half field that was left cleared out. Up to 13 crates of squash now. Then Michael & I went searchin' for that lost steer along the fence lines. Found where he got into the neighbor's pasture. Beautiful creek down there got some great rock outcrops.

Yesterday it rained all day. No dry clothes left. Got sidetracked bringin' 'em in, had to wear shorts & long socks today. Anyways helped Michael get the rest of the left side rafters up on the house, excuse me, earth ship he's been workin' on. First time since May there's been time.

Today I'll be clearin' out the six ft tall weeds in greenhouse three. Good shit. Time to get back to it, ya'll take care

I get that. Like, if you don't verbalize it, maybe it's not real.

So my boss at this new job was let go today. Not “fired,” kind of strange. He said they are going to transition him out over the next two months. He didn’t do anything wrong but I guess they don’t see the value he brings for the high salary. So that was weird news today.

Is that bad for your entire department?

By the way, and off topic here... how do you pronounce Deidre?

    You keep saying this term...

...and I really like it. I feel like this is an accurate descriptor of my life too. Not okay in the sense that it barely keeps me from killing myself, but in the sense that I'm never going to be a millionaire, I'm never going to be in a punk band, I'm never going to understand the appeal of Big Bang Theory--and that's 'okay!'

I’m not sure. I think that his boss will likely take over and I like his ideas but there are many on the team who dislike him. So should be interesting.

There are different ways to say it but I prefer “Dee-drah.” :)

I am glad you like it.
The first time I said it I thought "man, that sounds more depressing than I intended" lol

I have always appreciated the simple things in life, i see you do too :)

Hubby said the ones on the other side of my son's house were outside having a yelling match today but I missed it.

Yeah, like the other day, I went to breakfast, and I wanted a croissant, and the server brought one out, and she was like, "Sorry this one isn't fresh right out of the oven. I'll bring you a fresh one when this batch is done." I took a bite and it was warm, it was flaky, it was delicious, so I figured she was talking to my friend. No. She was talking to me. Right as I'm finishing up my croissant that I wasn't complaining about--BAM--a whole new croissant that was even better. Free of charge.

    Best day ever.

So is the fact that I slaughtered the spelling of croissant and my spell check still knew. My spell check just gets me

I got an invitation to go out tonight.

Having some Mexican food dining with 9 ladies and 1 gentleman. All caregivers to spouses with cancer that I know. A light and bonding support meal time and conversation.

It will be a good gathering.

It’s coming down in buckets here as well but we already have a 6 inch surplus for the year, so we don’t need the additional rain
