If that level of intelligence is the marker, are cows and chickens still good?

 

You know what I believe in, but yeah, I do object to those animals less. Or at least, I wouldn't mention my thoughts even with a smiley face.

I feel compelled to mention the pig thing if it comes up. For my own sake. Don't think I'm going to sway anyone : )

 

All I ask is that we can coexist.

We were just talking about Thanksgiving the other day and I don't think I could possibly turn down my Dad's Bacon String Beans but I'm not going to be at their house this year anyways, so that aside, I think of the three, I think pig might be the most likely I could do without eating.

 

I think we can both coexist with pigs and consume them, without any problem.
Sometimes you really can have your proverbial cake and eat it too Except if you can't moderate your intake of course. Moderation is almost always key

 

Hahaha. Well when the pig agrees to this scenario, it's all good with me : P

 

^that argument works better for me with chickens. With the pig thing it's the intelligence and level of sentience, not the egological consideration.

 

It depends on the details of course. But yes, if they have a happy and healthy life under natural conditions (like outside in daylight for instance and in normal quantities) I for one am sure they would agree As, if all done right, they're oblivious to the killing and consumption part.

 

I often think when lambs bleet "baah" it's an expression of their passive acquiescence to their station in life. A kind of gentle yet forlorn complaint.

I really respect hunting and eating wild animals only, I guess.

 

Maybe he was saying they'll agree to anasthesia on top of agreeing to being slaughtered.

 

To be fair, we, the most intelligent of the creatures, agree to be oblivious to all kinds of things.

So maybe they would.
