Why can't you people use logic when it comes to music? This thread didn't ask "what's your favourite period of music," it asked "what's the best" .

Using logic, you'd know that things only progress over time (called evolution). Music hasn't devolved, it has gotten more complex and bands and musicians are more and more creative than ever before. To say that a decade like the 60s or 70s (where most musicians copied each other *cough*psychedelia/punk/disco*cough*) is better than now in terms of what's being made is simply absurd. Go study some basic psychology and use your brains.. or in water_baby's case, word your question the right way so you don't make yourself out to be an idiot.

 

I just asked for your opinion, i wasnt singling you out because of your choice. Theres no way to prove the 'best' generation, thats why i looked at it from a 'favorite' point of view.
Your not the only one who deeply loves music...

 

The question clearly asked for the best, not favourite.

I'll use an analogy..

We humans are better (in pretty much all aspects) than what we were even just a thousand years ago because our minds have evolved even just a little, are we not?

well I don't see any way to "prove" what the "best" is in something without asking people's "opinions"...there's no facts in music and it doesn't mean that it's getting better just cause it's getting...
