I did some more Epleys and I think I finally got it right which means that after 5 months of severe vertigo Ive gone all day and all last night without even one incident
My camper is at the far left, next to first camper in line nearest the stage, I am behind the big fifth wheel, in a little teardrop camper. Stop by man and lets trade howdy's.....
What has caused your vertigo? I had a bad bout a year ago. Couldn't stop puking, open my eyes, anything. Spent 9 hours in the ER. It sucked. They couldn't figure out why it happened. They tried that move on me and eventually just pumped me full of valium. Was the only thing that worked.
the only thing I could think of was that about 12 hours before the attack I had been laying under a truck wrestling a muffler into place....laying on my back looking up (did not feel anything weird at the time though)..it was that night where it happened all of sudden when i tried to get out of bed at 3 am and thought I was having a stroke...later that day it was still bad so I went to ER too and they did a quick test called "Hallpike" to determine it what it was if it happens again google "dix-hallpike" to determine which side is symtomatic and then google "Epley maneuvre" to learn the simple exercise that cures it for 95% of cases it didnt help me the first time either (made it worse in fact but i decided to try it again) but this time i knew right away it worked <<<edit>>>..still feel weird though but i think its my brain readjusting due to 6 months of trying to compensate
They said that the little hairs that are inside the ear needed to be 'reset' or it was because of my anxiety. I thought I was having a stroke or aneurysm too. I really thought I was going to die. I was just at work and spun around to hand someone something and boom fell to the ground. I couldn't walk, had to be carried. Vertigo has got to be the worst thing I've ever gone through. I am glad you are feeling better. To deal with it that long is terrible. Sometimes when I get dizzy from blood pressure stabalizing or whatever I get really scared. Thanks for telling me about that test. It was terrifying to hear the doctor basically tell me he had no idea what was causing it and that he didn't know how long it would last. I was relieved when I heard the cat scan results. I was sure I had a tumor or something. They shot me up with valium so many times that the doc finally said they were going to give me a huge enough dose to make me unconcious because I was dry heaving so bad I popped blood vessels in my eyes and was spitting up blood.
Hopefully the best is yet to come because today wasn't particularly productive, but so far the highlight was reading some Steven Pinker on the train.
Did ya get to see it? When I was 6 years old, there were three tornadoes that hit the town I live in now (then we lived 12 miles away) and my dad and neighbor took me halfway between here and there to see one. I barely remember it, but it was AWESOME. lol
We saw most of it...the thing I remember most was leaves flying upward which I found strange and the sound of a freight train running through my neighborhood...totally crazy but it was pretty awesome to see one!
