    Yep!

I miss mine too, I wish I could find another one or at least that they would start making them again. :)

You could get one at a military surplus store or at Goodwill/Salvation Army.

I have one, I got it recently as a present, it's not a real military jacket, it'ss they type that's kinda in style. I haven't put on a peace sign patch on it yet, but I will. And I really only wear it with a tyedye dress.

    Yep.

It was also something from returning nam vets, and then there would have also been surplus jackets from the war ending, so others would have bought them cheap.

I'd wear an army jacket if I had a cheap chance at them. I like camo/green (for practical reasons.... I like being able to stand in a bush at night and be invisible) I like well made practical/functional clothing(and other items), and the list goes on.

Unfortionatly now that sort of thing is heavily valued as a fashion statement, and even worn out junk that "fell off a truck" is very expensive, if it is, or even looks like, army surplus.

Thanks, I've found out that what they usually have are the M-65's but what I'm looking for are the M-51's and they are very rare. The M-51's have a pointed collar and do not have the the hood that is zippered into the collar, that gives me a creak in my neck. :)

They have a lot of awesome shit in all kinds of catagories, including some cool military stuff. Right now there's no jakets or anything, though they do have everything from army undies to eastern bloc minesweeping devices, to alcohol stoves(though I like my 50's lookin' beer can stove, thankeee very much)

All around pretty cool site, you should check it out.

And if gas masks are your thing (I rather like them, myself.... for at LEAST two reasons :p ) you should check them out for sure.

*edit* they DO have alpine camo (...white) patrol suits, if you consider that a "jacket".

If you have a buddy in the army, have them steal you one...

Everyone I've ever known or even met in the army tends to think "My ass is on the line, for my country, and as such, this is my shit", if they can get away with it... I, as a civillian taxpayer who's buying the armys shit, actually wholeheartedly agree.

In my youth I've had all three at one time or another. Can someone please tell me what one pound British Sterling equals in US Dollars?? The USAF model Cold Weather Parka is (in my opinion) rather expensive at $159.95 pounds Sterling. On the other hand I might recommend buying 2 for the first time some stumblebum steals your first cool new army parka.(One is NONE two is ONE) :D:2thumbsup:

I dunno man. I think I could find those jackets a lot cheaper if I looked around. Sportsman's Guide, Cheaper Than Dirt, etc. Do a search on Google.

They were fairly cheap way back when, and a lot of them were available. Some of us got them issued to us though...;-/

i have a couple of what are called the m-65 field jackets. they are really nice quality. it has a liner in it that comes out, a button-on hood that tucks in the back when its not used, and some nifty pockets

I checked out a military surplus store here in Portland and they have some used jackets ranging from $10-$30, and some of them are pretty vintage. Look around, you'll find something.
