What's the longest time you've gone without washing your dreads?

i know a guy that washed his hair after two years

 

I've had my dreads for about 5 years now and they are down to about nipple length... when i first had them i wash once to twice a week but as time went on and the length of time between washes grew!! Partly because my hair stopped getting greasy as quickly and also because trying to dry my hair became a real nuisance as it was taking between 8 adn 12 hours to dry!!

Nowa days i probably wash my dreads every 6 weeks, sometimes more often-sometimes less, depends on the weather and what i've been doing.

At the end of the day as your locks mature you'll probably find that times between washes will increase but there isn't a set time scale... and as everyones dreads are individual to them their routine will be individual to them!!!

So just do what feels right!!

I wash mine every week but I'd guess longest I've ever gone was like 2 weeks?

 

i wash my dreads w/ dr.bronner's magic "soaps" 18 in 1 hemp oil pure castile as follows:

summer: every other day (we swim A LOT!!!)
winter: every day

i soak um, lather um ur good, let it sit 4 a few, & rinse well.

btw i DONOT use any wax just palm roll baby

 

I use water (no soap)... every week or two, depends when it gets dirty really. gone months without washing while I was at the beach every weekend but I don't use soap anyway so I guess it all depends on what you call cleaning.

 

i do mine about 2 times a week or else my head gets itchy. i use t-gel and that helps for when i have to go a little longer like if im camping or something. plus i think my dreads look best right after washing and in the shower is when i go thru and rip the interlocking ones. also my room mates are cig smokers and my hair smells like cigs sometimes and i dont really care for that.

 

i wash my hair like once or twice a month >.<
