I agree, the Hobbit is definitley high up on my list of favorite books, but digital, Tolkien has been immensley popular for like 50 years lol. Even Led Zepplin was singing about Golem and all that stuff in the 70's. There were cartoons made, toys, etc. It's also one of the books that, at least in America, is typically read by high school students in the average to above average English classes. And John, how strange, I was literally about to make a thread on the very same subject, good thing I looked down the forum a little further. My all time favorite book would have to be the Grapes of Wrath by Steinbeck. Something about that book always brings me back, its one of the few books I've read more than once. Either that or Autobiography of a Yogi by Paramahansa Yogananda, along with his books 2nd Coming of Christ and Bhagavad Gita Royal Science of Yoga. Yogananda is my favorite author, but he has also become my Guruji in ways that are hard to describe  Im dying to get my own copy of War & Peace, from what I understand that would most likely come high up on my list
I gotta add all the books in the Narnia serries into this too, yes they're children's books but they're so fun to read
