when it does happen it will be history so its unfair to exlude the future because it will eventually be the past
Agree with this, You're overthinking it or trying to be clever goatman. History is the study of the past. As of yet there is no way to record the events of the future. even while prehistory was not technically recorded there is still plenty of evidence via oral tradition and archeological means to give us a window/account into that past.
History = study of the written past, prehistory = study of the past before written sources (which varies per culture of course). So even if we could study the future it wouldn't be part of history (yet )
well if we could study it I'm sure we would come up with some other category like post history or future history.
agreed. the first moment people stop trying to repeat deliberately the misleading distortions they have been told to believe about it; and start realizing they don't have to.
People in general? I don't know if its feasible for the entire human race to accomplish such a feat or even an entire nation for that matter. In fact not deliberately 'repeating misleading distortions' if you want to call it such for a nation could be far more devestating. I'm not sure I'm following exactly what you are saying here as I'm a bit tired maybe? On a more personal level why can't you do that yourself? why cant your moment where it clicked that you realized written history was no longer from a repeating distorted well educated upper class historian point of view but from a hipster cat faced avatar guy with the pseudonym themnax was writing history. Granted the headlines may be written by the former but at least you can participate now and what makes you so sure that me or any of the others here are listening to the well educated news reporter more than you?
my favourite thing in history is probably the British Empire, the sun was shining for a long long time
Too bad some people, such as the Americans, the East Indians, the Pakistanis, the Afghans, the Thais, the Burmese, the Irish, the South Africans, the Kenyans, the Palestinians (and who have I left out) didn't share your perspective. The Brits of course are still on good terms with Canada, Australia, Falklands, Tristan da Cunha, Ascension, and parts of Scotland and Ireland.
The moment all of the people from the Bible were dead and had no one left to prove it really happened. It's not really my favorite but I would like to have been there, if only to say I was the last one who knew whether or not it was all true. lol
the moment they put a lock on the zoo threads.. Oh yeah I went there like hitler and gave them a piece of my mind, but shitty free speak americans wanna keep it open.. before you know it, the zoos are going to be running every thread here.. …! Heil ! ! ! … We must just kill all those zooz, man! Then we'd be rid of them, man! All zoo, they will never be loved, never loved...
why assume i assume? this isn't news. somethings move more by statistical consensus then by the acts and priorities of one person alone. much as i appreciate being reminded that none of us actually are entirely alone, it's when a critical mass of us open our eyes that our world alters dramatically, beyond our individual selves, and for the bennifit of all. and yes, i DO realize, that crittical mass of perception shift, is made up of, and begins with, each individually of us. my objection to focusing exclusively on self change, is simply that it seldom proves sufficiently effective. it is like the man with a hammer semi-science of psychology, to which everything looks like the nail of individual emotion.
The conception and construction of the pyramids of Gizeh. Using common sense one can only laugh at the "official" theories about these monuments and their age.
The greatest moments in history are 1 When the U.S. became a nation. 2. When the philosophies of Aristotle and Plato came out. 3. When Hitler took control of Germany. (One on the greatest leaders of all time) 4. When Slaves where freed 5. When Blacks and Women got the right to vote. 6. The 60's during that time people realized stuff and changed modern day culture. 7. When Siddhartha "Buddha" attained enlightenment and taught it to the people.
