The Huron collapsed in the mid 1600's. I think you only need to be 1/16 to be a carded "Indian" under the Indian Act in Canada, but I may be mistaken...
^^ ya that makes more sense. i just went to read a bit, and its cause algonquins did a lot of trading with the hurons or something like that.
The Hurons still exist , but in very small numbers ( like 3000 in a near Québec reserve), they have a lot of french blood though because quite a lot of huron women and french men married in New France ...
Ummmm.... Czech, Italian, Polish, Irish, French, English, German I want to say there's more but I can't think of it
I wasn't saying that they got wiped out completly. The Huron were New France's major trading partner, and their closest allies, and then (I can't remember the exact reasons, but disease was one of them) but their populations collapsed and then the Iriquois (who were opposed to New France, and got guns from the English) were able to tcarry out more raids on the small Huron populations and the settlers in New France colonies. I should really just go get my Pre-Confed. history text book...
no, i learned that last semester in the history couse i dind't finish I was way better in the political side of highschool social studies than the history side...
Me too ... Politic Sciences are the shit really, i think it would be the kind of field i'd like to study ... And history classes here a joke really, they're just dead easy ...
