    Dear Sir
I looked into the process properly and CHOSE my method. OMG!!!! Little ole' me capable of making a choice...holy shit!!!! I didnt want to spend years looking like shyte, hell even you said in another thread that noone even notices you have dreads and you are a year in. Okay that is not for ME. I dont have weeks to spend in forest (as SE recommends) . I have 4 children and am involved in school activities and wanted a "neater" appearance. So I did indeed CHOOSE the backcomb method. Seemed the quicker neater approach. I used wax in the first few months to help hold the backcombed fuzzies in place and keep them together during washes. I dont feel it did any harm. Then again it is my story and it worked for ME. Im not going to sit here and say "huhhhh I didnt know wax was bad". I did a lot of research...saw all the anti wax banter and I did chalk it up to free loving hippies just making yet another conspiracy (no offence to my hippie friends) and hating on folks who CHOSE a quicker method. I can see after spending years of trying to make natural locks and then having someone with fully locked dreads in months a little annoying. But everyone has the right to CHOOSE the method that works for them...PERIOD! Im not spiritual...so I could care less about the journey and the reward and all that mumbo jumbo. I wanted locks..and guess what I have them...and my reasons are MY OWN and if anyone don't like them I have a big white ass worthy of kissing. Thats my OPINION on it all. The only thing I have a distaste for is the elitist freaking attitudes. I could care less how or why anyone else began to dread. Not my mission in life to save the world from wax. A lot more important things going on out there in the real world.

Got tired of hearing how much he hated it. I have been thinking about it anyway, since I have to get back into the "real world" this fall when my youngest begins school. Callie is conforming to society....haaa haaa haaa
I really think all the crazy stares I get are more because of my facial piercings than my hair. So lets see! Am keeping the snakebites though...I love them!!!!

Well septum is one of the more severe-looking ones I guess, but still....down with conformity! Everyone say in unison now: Down With Conformity! Down With Conformity! :p

How have I not shown proper respect? Have I not been civil? Explain.

Read the replies aimed to me and think about who is being disrespectful.

I thought you didn't care how or why anyone else began to dread... :p

Hey, man, I told my dread story and they wanted to know more. They didn't like what they found; so initiated the chaos~

when I was about seventeen years old me and my best friend both had long hair and both wanted dreads. in the end he got his hair short again and I just let it grow. one year later I decided that my loing hair was getting too long and that it didn't look evry nice anymore, so I got them for my 19th birthday, just backcpombing. never really heard of going natural to be honest. there ain't much dreadies around here, certainly not of the kind that take them as part of their spiritual journey. anyway, i've had them for three years now and I still like them. right on!!
