I think rock'n'roll died when Rod Stewart released "Camouflage". . . .It's either that or the 80's :)

The 80s made Rock better! BETTER!!!!!!!!!!!

MOST of the Nu Metal bands SUCK, GREATLY! Thank God the old bands like Aerosmith and Motley Crue are still around....I wish Metallica was as good as they were but their last album sucked hard.

The White Stripes had some pretty good stuff, stuff that counts as rock n roll. I think if Rock n roll got some attention it would be brought back into the mainstream in a second.

As Danny and the Juniors said, "Rock 'n' Roll is here to stay. It will never die. It was meant to be that way, though I don't know why." Rock 'n' Roll is more than just music: It is individuality itself. As soon as we admit that rock is dead we admit that we are all bores. ROCK AND ROLL FOREVER M-ER F-ERS YEAAAAAAH!!!!!!!!! YEAAAAAAAH!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! YEAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAUUUGHHHHHH!!!!!!

rock was good in the late 60's and 70's, sucked very badly in the 80's, was good from 91 till about 96, sucked ever since besides a few good bands here and there. this is just purely mainstream rock i'm talking about, theres alot of really good rock bands out right now just not that are played on the radio.

Alot of people tend not to like hair metal, and to go back to the early 80's, new wave.

    Personally, I love hair metal.

And rock hasn't died, it's just hibernating underground until the spring comes and it's back on the surface.

Yeah, but if it was only in our hearts, then I'd say it's pretty dead.

On May the 2nd, 1950, Rock was born into a farmers family. The child of Gerald and Geraldette they called it Geraldo. It lived a long, yet eventful life, and shared many experiences such as fucking groupies and almost OD-ing off smack. Little did Gerald and Geraldette know what kind of trouble Geraldo the Rock was going through, until the President of the U.S rang them and said their son was the cause of school shootings and Satanism. Gerald the Rock died on that fateful day of the 30th of February, 2002 with the coming of Limp Bizkit.

That's the story of Geraldo, the Rock.

One good thing about music, is when it hits you, you feel no pain....There are still good stuff coming out, just stop watching MTV. Its bad for you

The classic rock era ended in August, 1982 when ABBA recorded their last song.

However, rock went on with Roxette from Sweden and in the recordings of Shania Twain.

rock n roll will always be around. maybe not popular. but there are always underground bands that keep it alive. and tribute bands. i know it's not the same as the real thing, but at least they try to keep it alive, ya know?

no.. no... you got it all wrong... rock died when Metallica cut their hair... god damn metallica...

yea.. i dont understand all this hatred twords 80s rock.. 80s rock was more influential than most rock created.. you know why? because up until the 80s metal.. the government found no reason to Censor music... the 80s were the peak of the rock/metal era and the government wanted to shut it down.. and did a poor job trying
