yeah I can see a child defaulting to the latter as an emotional defense mechanism. its easier for a child to think that there is something wrong with the teddy bears talking, than it is for a child to think there is something wrong with the child for hearing an inanimate object talk...

man, maybe you had that sleep paralasys thing. i was watching discovery channel and they say sometimes you see and hear things wen you get it. ive heard things like loud buzzing noises and almost like UFO type throbing noises, but when i snaped out of it and i could move, theres usualy just a drool mark on my science desk. do you remember if you could move?

 

when i was about 4 till i was about 7 everytime i looked up on my shelf that i had in my room with toy horses on it the horses would be walking around asif they were having a good time. but every morning when i would wake up they would be in the original spot as they were before i went to sleep

 

I could move freely when spinning; when floating; when seeing that new (or maybe not new) color. It was like slipping into a different reality (if my critics will allow me to put it that way), and I think, perhaps, a child has more realities than an adult. There are more things in heaven and earth etc., etc. I like that thing about the horses: that smacks just a little of Indians inthe cupboard. A child's imagination may be the brain's focus mechanism, or zoom lens. Speaking of that, I recall when I was young and my eyes very good, I liked to look at the moon, and it seemed to me (and still seems that way) that when I applied just a little imagination, and strained to see the possibilities that the moon grew bigger and the details easier to see.

 

these are all examples of people reaching into different realities. it happens to children because they're more open-minded and don't dismiss everything.
