Well, the op was kinda vague:

    I considered it to be a mind/body question...but I could be wrong.

As far as planetary bodies, yes I would consider them notions. We conceive of a planetary body based upon our sensory input, or our perception of something that we term a planetary body. Without our perception, how can we know of anything that we term a planetary body? Further, for the sake of argument, if we assume that all we can perceive is the "thing" termed a planetary body......that is what will allow us to have something to perceive. They arise together.

Now, what is a planetary body? In the past, due to our limited "natural" bodily perceptions (sight, smell, touch, etc.) we might have conceived of a planetary body as a spherical mass of rocks and dirt bounded by the sky. But with the advent of sensual aides (microscopes, telescopes, spectrographs, etc....we may possibility extend that definition past the simple rock and dirt sphere explanation to include the troposphere, the stratosphere, the mesosphere, thermosphere, and the exosphere.
Our notion of a planetary body has changed....and therefore the definition of a planetary body has changed...we now have a larger, and more complete planetary body. And we could keep extrapolating on this notion. Should we include the magnetosphere? How about the solar system which contains planetary bodies? If we remove the sun, do we still have planetary bodies? What about space? Can a planetary body exist without space?

    Notions upon notions.

If we need communication to arise, we are all the same thing.

    A communicates to B,
B needs to communicate to A to arise,
A does not arise until it communicates with B.
    And verse visa.

actually it does, you're just not seeing it. but it is of course not the only possible answer.

also "everything has a name"? wrong. far more things inevitably exist then have ever been observed by any sapient observer, or are ever likely to be, to give names to them.
this is your dear old ego fallacy, that nothing can possibly exist without yourself (or at least something sapient) knowing about it, which is nonsense.

Well he is correct in that if it is not named, it is not a thing.

We generate things out of the void by assigning them characteristics based upon our senses and our attention.
So you are both correct, IMO.

Well it is an attempt to put the question to rest by saying they arise together which is true, absorption and reflection but there is also polarity or the direction of flow between these two. Something puts a spin on the process affecting some particles and not others or at different rates or intensities. Obviously the chicken egg scenario is a feedback loop. No starting point on a circle but when you scribe it you will do so in a specific direction. Three properties in matter, absorption, refection, and polarity. With these three coordinates we can triangulate position.

A thing is a name that applies to anything described or not and it would be quite the challenge to identify one who has no name.

I agree we are all the same thing. As far as notions, that we describe implies that there is something we can describe. A and B need proximity or space to communicate.

Out of the void? Are we void?

"Show your friends that you and me
    Belong to the same world,
Turned on to the same word,

    Have you heard?"

    I think, I think I am, therefore I am.....I think.

Of course you are my bright little star, I've miles and miles of files
Pretty files of your forefather's fruit and now to suit our great computer,
    You're magnetic ink

I'm more than that, I know I am, at least, I think I must be.

There you go man, keep as cool as you can.
Face piles and piles of trials with smiles.
It riles them to believe that you perceive the web they weave
    So keep on thinking free

and live each day on the threshold of a dream

You know it took me a long time to learn that there is nothing essentially false or unworthy in what we are or in our creative capacity. Yes we can be mistaken and we can learn anew, at the same time we can be right on, right here, right now.
