Probably. Despite all the ignorance, spam, and bikini models fist fighting (not that I don't love it ) the internet has a lot of good sharing information.

What's the power of that? Look at the Israel Lebanon war. Before this media coverage people used to have a low estimate and know human face to the realities of war.

The internet really brought this to life for a lot of people. The toll on both sides was horrific when seen through the internet and I think regardless of which side you thought was just, (I think it was neither)
the access to information made it a reality, and who knows how long it could have waged if this media wasn't there.

 

I'd have to admit I'd probably be smarter but far less aware without the internet. Drugs, socialism, other cultures, other beliefs - Things that in some way or another i needed to know about in order to escape my sheltered life but couldn't have ever dreamed of it without the influence of the rest of the planet online. I think my opinion of the WWW has improved because of this conversation.

Segregaton implies coercion. Having different entertainment venues for different social groups isn't nessecarily segregation at all.

Unless you think Spike TV is segregation.

 

I wish BET would have more social responsibility by showing more public affairs of the black community.

But I guess they follow the money like everyone else. I don't think it's nessecarily divisive to have programming adressing specific social groups. I suppose a divisive name is a fair criticism, although it doesn't really bother me.

I just wish BET was better more socially concious programming rather then much of the repetitive tripe always on. It's true with all channels, but BET is very bad about it.

 

You can't even spell college right. Spelling is a basic foundation of any academic study and if you're going to tar and feater the majority of a race for failing to educate themselves, BASIC english skills might help.

I assume you don't read enough, therefore you are not aware, and as a result you are stupid.

By the way, i quit college in first year. If you have a college education than maybe i made the right choice.
