I don't believe that positive thinking is enough to bring about success either. Interestingly, it's a biblical teaching that success can be random and not something God blesses a person with who works hard. Although, hard work is encouraged out of principal. The people in Africa will get their day. Don't worry. "I have observed something else under the sun. The fastest runner doesn’t always win the race, and the strongest warrior doesn’t always win the battle. The wise sometimes go hungry, and the skillful are not necessarily wealthy. And those who are educated don’t always lead successful lives. It is all decided by chance, by being in the right place at the right time." - Ecclesiastes 9:11 The king was discussing the ironies of life of how a person who should be king ends up riding on donkeys (probably gives deeper meaning when Jesus rode on a donkey) and those who should be servants end up becoming kings. Books like "The Secret" are ridiculous and just not realistic.
No matter what station we find ourselves in life, whether it be abject poverty or opulence, our lives come to us a series of sensations, some of which we may call pleasant and some not so. It is at this level, moment to moment, that we ourselves manufacture the tenor, high or low, of our experience through conceptualization or belief about what is occurring. We cannot change the world, stop the tide from advancing or receding, but we can change our minds about the world, and nothing comes to your experience but on the wings conception. Sensations probe the mind so to speak, for assemblage in a pattern of association we have created through preference. We are never upset for a fact, but the interpretation of fact.
And the real hell for It is: we've got no soul for It. Maybe the hell of me writing that is the insistence that I do have the soul of the failure to understand the truth.
god is cool, its man that has the problem, there is no such thing as a republican christian because republicans are greedy self centered people and until they disappear and we get rid of capitalism which is greed as well we are never going to have paradise instead of money let love rule, if you want something give them a hug for it, money has to be done away with, we need more love in the world and no money, things should be free but evil people are against this because they dont want heaven on earth but it could be if they would just wake up and join us...........PEACE
'The secret' is way to focused on material items. Go to youtube and type in spirit science, theres about 12 videos so far. But its not a bunch of religious bullshit its stuff that actually makes you think, and none the less entertaining to watch.
Who exactly is going to Hell? Everyone, the body dies. Who's not going to Hell? People who are born again.(John 3:5-6)
But from the Hud (not 'Hub' like the BBC) of the Koran, we in the conclusion as the faithful, practicing, believing have a happy good conclusion to mental ways as unfaithful bitching chauvinists rebuking criminals on behalf of uncertain enemies in our ideological concerns. at the same time, the unfaithful violently busy thieves and vengeful fall in love again for a giant Zoroastrian feast.:mickey:
As one of Pagan faith, when corporate greed sees £ $ etc over nature, I feel it is sometimes, Hell, on Earth
Arg - you sickening liar. You think y0u practice. I know people who practice meditation 6 hours a day. You sad hater. You know nothing. You fundy born agains have a rude awakeing. Religious wankers.
I haven't read all the posts, 7 pages or whatever, but I wanted to clarify the basic Christian belief. The belief is that God is perfect, therefore nothing imperfect can be in His kingdom. When Adam chose to disobey God, he sinned. Adam is the father of all human kind, therefore all human kind sins. No matter how "good" someone is, they are not good enough to enter God's presence. How is sin forgiven? Sin has always been forgiven by blood shed from a perfect sacrifice, which is Jesus. Jesus never sinned because He did not have an earthly father and He chose to do the will of His heavenly father. So when He was crucified He was the perfect sacrifice. Sins before His death and resurrection were forgiven of people who looked forward in faith to His coming sacrifice. The Jewish sacrfice of animals free from blemish symbolized the coming of the perfect Savior. Forgivenes of sin after His death and resurrection is only by accepting His sacrifice in faith as payment for our sins. So to answer the question, Christians believe anyone who has not accepted Christ as the Son of God, the perfect sacrifice for their sins, will need to pay for their sins themselves, and they will never be able to do that, hence punishment in hell for eternity.
who exactly is going to Hell? probably me. "I'd crack a 40 with the devil tell him dig me a hole cause I'm coming when I die until then I'm in control" -ICP
About going to hell: which way is it that one finds the other decidedly a love for the world, and which way is it that one should stop loving and get on with it? I think it is to wait for every split second of the day concluding there is no Love; life is better without love when the money is a ransom that you die. Sometimes sex is a ransom that you live instead. Eh babe?
If we have to prove ourselves to God to be acceptable then aren't we putting trust in our ability and not the good news of reconcilation? If we can't trust that God loves us and are acceptable to him just the way we are and where we are then what do we have?
