To tell you the truth. I don't like nirvana much. I really love Neil Young's stuff...

They are one of those bands that have one decent song per album. Just enough to get airplay.

not to sound bitchy but if your 13 now, how old were you when grunge started hitting the mainstream radios??????? I was just going into middle school, probly 12 or 13 that wold explain why i listend to mainstream radio, no money to buy my own cds, anywho all i thought the first time i caught onto the grunge phenomenon was "wow these guys are as pissed off and pissed on as me, i'm not the only freak in the world"!!!!!!!!!

for some of the adherents of grunge, i had to wonder, which came first? the misery or the music?

What is your theory on how grunge was killed, not just the music but the clothes, the attitude and lifestyle in general?????

i think it was the misery...........anywhoo thats how i wrote songs back in the day, i was miserable and depressed and everyone made fun of me for wearing clothes no one else wore so i wrote songs about it :) its stupid i coulda just killed my own fashion sence and dressed like everyone else and made friends but something in me saiud "FUCK YOU ALL i will dress how i want and be more sucessfull than all of you oneday!!" haha little did i know then, now most of those kids are in college and i am a college drop out sitting on my ass at home, but i think my creativityy will get me somewhere one day, i am trying to get a grant to go back to school right now!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

For starters, I'm no fucking hippie.

Yes, I have listened to Outcesticide II and Bleach. And I still say Smashing Pumpkins were the best musicians of the mainstream alternative bands. And, no, constant and creative is not contradictory. Ask any real musician, they'll know what I mean.

there's nothing wrong with that at all, going your own way and creatively seeking an outlet for shit that's pissing you off. i'd prefer it was good before it hit the radio, but radio doesn't work that way anymore, it appeals to the least common denominator. but when grunge became a movement, it was nullified. it was no longer going your own way, it was picking the new uniform.
