Marmite is the most horrific food known to man and an affront to all that is good and holy. The Levellers are the most amazing band known to man. I don't see how the two can be equated....

I stand by my ill-considered theory that the Levellers are almost exactly like Marmite in every conceivable way:tongue:

And that's where you customarily unassailable logic falls flat....

I'm going to show my age here a bit, but the Levellers were there for my sudden foray into social and political issues, but mainly it was for the music. I first heard "One Way" on the radio in Dallas, Texas in 1991. I saw them that year as well at a venue I cannot remember (Deep Ellum Live perhaps). It was a memorable moment but there were lots of those that year (The La's, The Charlatans and loads of other British bands before Nirvana and Pearl Jam came along to take over "Alternative"). But that show was an absolute blast. I've bought everything since and seen them a few times but I like the way they've been sort of silently prevalent in my musical taste for 17 years. My favourite song now though is "England My Home", which means a lot more living in England now.

What's funny is just the other day at work there was a conversation about how great Zeitgeist is....
