If you got into an accident and you were in the back seat without a seatbelt, you would fly forward kill whoever was in the front seat. Selfish bastard.

for rollercoasters its a little different. the amusement park doesnt REALLY care about your safety, they care about their ass if someone gets hurt or injured. private property, private rules.
roads are public property, governed by rules designed to keep the moronic alive (which is bad for evolution) it should be up to you to keep yourself safe, to weigh the risks and benefits of any action. i could wear a helmet while in the car, but while the benefit outweighs the risk, whats the real chance that it comes in handy? ill take that risk rather than wearing a helmet. it should not be up to the government to keep you safe, thats up to you, survival of the fittest (or the luckiest, i suppose) is how its supposed to work.

 

Resistance to wearing seat belts is habitual, rather than well considered choice.
