Um, too much legalism in all the above. Sorry! Religion will never rest on lenghthy proofs/counterproofs. Rests on faith, my faith. God will be praised! Sing away to that fact and you have more than my respect. You have my Christian love for a brother who respects God. There is no higher calling/answer. God (Al, Elohim, El Shaddai, YHWH, or He Who is with us) bless you. In that name, Amen.

I see, well, briefly, there is two major groups (sects) of Islam (Ahlusunnah=Sunni and Shi'a) Sunni have 4 major schools, however, these two major groups all believe in Quraan as the word of Allah, Muhammad (pbuh) is his last messenger, and in the five main pillars of Islam etc, the differences as I see is mostly related to the fiqh issues (i.e. Islamic jurisprudence- juristic reasoning-legal differences) which by fiqh we Muslims extract religious rulings on practical matters from the two main sources Quraan and Sunnahè(what the Prophet Muhammad said, did, or approved of) to know Sunnah we refer to the companions of the prophet and the descendants of the prophet (their narrations etc).

Shia based and depend on the descendants [99%] of the forth caliph, Ali ibin Abeetalib the cousin of the prophet who was the husband of the prophet's daughter, Sunni follow the companions of the prophet…etc

Though Allah only knows when the Last Hour before the Day of Resurrection will come, He has given us 'clues' about its approach through information in the Qur'an and the haddeeth of the Prophet. The signs can be separated into two categories: minor and major.

    Minor Signs

'Abdullâh said, "The Prophet said, … there will be days in which … there will be much killing.' " (Ibn Majah; also narrated by al-Bukhârî and Muslim, from the Hadîth of al-A'mash.)

Abû Hurayrah said, The Prophet said, "…afflictions will appear, and there will be much Harj." The people asked, "O Messenger of Allah, what is Harj?" He said, "Killing, killing!" (al-Bukhârî)

I am so sorry my lord [IMG]

Anas ibn Malik said, "I shall tell you a Hadîth which I heard from the Messenger of Allah, … I heard him say, … Adultery will be prevalent and the drinking of wine will be common. … " This Hadîth was reported in the two Sahîhs from the Hadîth of 'Abd Rabbihi.

Abû Hurayrah said, The Prophet said, " earthquakes will increase… People will compete in constructing high buildings.'' (al-Bukhârî)

    etc etc

    Major Signs

    "Al-Mahdi will come"

'Alî said, The Prophet said, "The Mahdi is one of us, from among the people of my household. In one night Allah will inspire him and prepare him to carry out his task successfully." (Ahmad and Ibn Majah.)

"Isa (Jesus) will come at the time al-Mahdi as well. He will call people back to Islam. The People of the Book will revert to Islam"

Hudhayfah ibn 'Ubayd said, " The Prophet came upon us whilst, we were busy in discussion He asked us, 'What are you talking about?' We said, 'We are discussing the Hour.' He said, 'It will not come until you see … the descent of Jesus son of Mary… "(Ahmad)

''A time of great peace and serenity during and after the remaining lifetime of Jesus''

Hajjaj said that he heard 'Alî say, The Prophet said, "… Allah would send a man from among us (Al-Mahdi) to fill the world with justice, just as it had been filled with oppression and injustice." (Ahmad).

    Etc etc…

I am really not very informed about it.

    Peace and love

    Yours Sincerely,
    Cat Stevens
