fuck, I am supposed to know all this geneology, you know? jesus is of the line of david. thus the "king of the jews" thing. I wanna say that king david has traved lineage back to levi, but, right now I am really sketchy, and am going to have to look this shit up. he is of israel as israel is a nation in a spiritual sense, since israel has been broken and reformed MANY times since joshua (assuming biblical/abramic accounts) and so israel is more a record keeping thing than a physical boundaries thing. olive skinned, so, think arabic looking.
Some Catholics I think , or other Christians , that he was some nomadic king... Bearing in mind he was from Israel and spoke to Levi Strauss , its a bit baffling... ( was it Levi Strauss?)
maybe some people actually do believe that, but it is a fringe belief. Mary Magdalene, if she existed, was Jewish. making Jesus a Jew as well.
And the whole Merogvinian line....*If* it exists. I just find it frustrating when some people argue about 2000 years ago like they were there , u know?
The bible states that 'Jesus's black feet walked through the white sand' or some shit like that. With that in mind, why does the holy church have an image of the Bee Gees nailed to the cross? They should have gone with Shaquille O'Neal....
Did he sing "Ah Ahh Ahh Ahh Staying Alii---- ivvvvvvvveeeee" The Turin Shroud looked a lot like a 14th Century forgery of Billy Connolly. Who u probably wont know of , outside Britain...
the Italian Renaissance. painters made jesus look like them before that, crusaders who were european christians who wanted jesus to be european because arabs were killing christians before that romans because rome was the ruling empire, and lesser races weren't to be held in high regard as a whole the religion has had some hard times and probably judah, I'm just having a shitty time with this geneology shit. I normally just skip over it.
I know you're being sarcastic, but I do have to point out that most christians don't know the first thing about their faith. they just know noah's ark, adam and eve, lot's wife, jonah, a few other parables, a few hymns, and what their pastor tells them on sunday in blind surveys less than 30% of people who go to church every sunday have read the bible cover to cover, of course, if you ask them to do a yes no, in front of the congregation it jumps to around 80%. the problem is, it's a very poorly defended, very poorly recruited, VERY poorly taught religion, and most people view it as a social vector. which is REALLY frustrating.
Well they said he will rise from the dead.. maybe he's Hussein Barack Obama. Lets see if he can turn water into wine
he's supposed to come back bald. sorry. edit: KIDDING! but, seriously. all this religious weight attached o this guy? wtf?
Raelians are a cool religion. Infact they dont even need to advertise... ( altho I never joined em..)
it's one of the least esteemed large religions because of the way in which it's been managed try to talk the same shit about hinduism people get away with talking about christianity, seriously especially in an academic environment. great, hinduism is based elsewhere, and so isn't the popular religion of the poor, and middle class white man, awesome, why does that make being a hindu diverse, and being christian, ignorant?
I like the idea of having the Kama Sutra in a religion tho.. Taoism and Paganism can be quite clever too..
aspects of taoism are really quite beautiful. aspects of paganism have been assimilated by modern christianity, so I don't fret about that either way. and, to be fair, modern christianity has become a version of paganism (in it's VERY classical VERY latin sense)
Some of CHristianity doesnt trust people with the arts of Paganism/Taoism etc. Just seems a bit of a shame... Anyway , bedtime.
most christians who are SUPER anti paganism don't realize they've borrowed their easter eggs and christmas trees from it.
