funny thing you would say you dont care about talent and like black metal cuz in reality black metal has no talent...most black metal bands are terrible at their instruments at least their recording make it seem like it! lol

also the only black metal bands that have talent and not scared to show it is Cradle and Dimmu but then again they dont sound very tradition black metal sound.

Have to correct you there, I said I didn't care about talent in death metal because even though it's certainly full with talented musicians and great techniques, it just really doesn't tickle my metalfancy.

I think both Dimmu Borgir and Cradle of filth can't be called black metal anymore, but I still dig their earlier albums (especially Stormblast!!). When you think there's no talent in pure black metal, that's your problem. I can see how a cheesy power metal fan gets that feeling It's intensly raw and unpolished, and that's a large part of why I like it

Power metal can be as true as Black Sabbath and traditional doom. It's harder for a doom metal band to sound gay, something which is relatively easy for a power metal band (so how can it not be true metal when a power metal band succeeds in not sounding gay).

I think he was just being rude for no reason. I don't really listen to loads of Doom but I wont thrash his or anyone else's tastes.


Power Metal is pretty good. Try telling your typical Iron Maiden fan they are hipster, think you would be in for a world of pain

 

Asmodean you should know better! since you like in a privilege country or to say continent that has the best festivals in the world for metal.....I never seen a stoner or doom metal band headline Wacken? With full force? Bloodstock? Metalway? Gods of Metal? DYnamo Open Airs.........


I honestly haven't heard doom or stoner metal but if you guys post vids I will listen....

Power metal isnt gay......not like something like slipknot or korn ...

 

I'm not talking about all power metal, but overall it contains more bands that slightly miss the point (although they may be true depending if your definition on it is that it at least contains all cliché's of the genre, in which this metalgenre even exceeds black metal for instance) then a genre like doom. Most likely because of the characteristics of the genre which if not well done sounds more hilarious than any other Kinda in the same way how a band like Slipknots music sounds more like a charicature of metal than actual metal (to me, just my opinion )

To me the fact that the festivals you named haven't programmed a doom band as headliner doesn't mean anything.
