Neohippie and Solla,
this is an agree to disagree point.
Solla, Neo has the right to like STS9 just like you have the right to like Phish.
Neo, Solla has the right to not like STS9, just like I have the right to not like Phish.

what is finally wonderful about the jam scene is all the layers. Some bands do electronica well, some Ok and some, well, some should probably let it ride.

THe more fusions, the better, in my eyes.

we totally are. i dig electronia stuff in jam music. i think a few are going about in a bad way, but who could possibly like it all?

i recently inquired a Korg KAOSS pad into my guitar effects chain...it allows me to use DJ efx on the loops that i build up on my digitech jam-man looper....its so fun and so sounds so cool!

Hehe, cool, we do that two now, that caos pad pad is pretty sweet, BUT the easyer it is to create music, the harder it is to make it sound exiting...

know what i mean? you could just make 3 or 4 loops and make it sound great and call it a day, but that's like taking a crap... about as much effort.

i make the loops live with my guitar as a groove point. having a three piece band i help fill the gap that a keyboard player would fill.

The reason why more jambands are goin to electronica is sort of easy to see. These are guys that were raised with hits on the radio like madonna. As opposed to the Dead where they were raised on the blues, folk, bluegrass. Its just the evolution of pop music. I must say jam bands are more open to experimental ideas, because of this we get some decent bands doin bad ideas but atleast they are doin this for us to criticize or for us to love. Then there is bands like Umphree's McGee who does metal but is still a jamband. Somehow I haven't really heard anyone complain about that. I enjoy it, because it means that music and music fans have come full circle. More people are open to different musical ideas. That is the idea of jambands. Even the Dead went electronic. You have the late 80's-90's midi stuff. Before that in the 70's Phil and Ned had Seastones which was ground breaking and amazing. Oh and Jerry and Howard Wales had Hooteroll? which i think is what bands like STS9 would sound like in the 70's. Its the fusion and evolution of people, machines and music. Remember in when the Grateful Dead were around and making albums they had the best of the musical technology. Now from Anthem of the Sun we get things like DJ Logic playing with Ratdog. We also get Mickey Hart who embraces electronic music for the drum work that you are able to do with a computer but not live.

everybody likes different sounds, for instance, i think that rock jams sound better and more unique than electronica, but once you get into it, music is music and its all good. i have seen both biscos and moe and i liked moe more because i like the genre better. phish is my favorite band... the biscos were sick though, and totally worth it.

it just depends on what you personally enjoy, but a good mixture of sounds is the way to go, i'd say, just always keep it inconsistant and fresh!

I think it's cool you can hear influences in music,
I'd like to think that we're just tapping from the same source, or coming from that same place as it where.
Although we're not knowingly emulating anything, or anyone. (But we sure are Spoofing allot! :d Namely the European House and Trance scene)
I think you know what i mean; Getting in tune
Ofcourse non of all this would have been possible without Mr. Townshend, Mr Terry Riley and Mr Tristram Carey, and if not to insulting, i'd like to dedicate these tracks to these pioneers.
We might be experimenting with all this stuff, but we(i) realize it's all covered ground. (perhaps you know of 200 band who sound just like us, I wouldn't know)

I hope I'm not gonna regret this in the morning, but here's a news selection that kinda flows like a concept album, what about is completely up to you, and it's one of the things I'd like to hear from you guys;

"What the f*** is this all about, can anyone please tell me !?" :uhoh: :d
We got our vocalist speaking in tongues and gibberish most of the time, but there's also storytelling going on, and poetry readings. We're just fooling around, having fun, making noiZes...yet
There's something happening here, but what it is aint exactly clear
We just wanna make music 24/7

Now please keep in mind, I'm no Blackmore and I'm no Steve Vai, or even any guitarist who's had two weeks worth of decent lessens;] ) but i'm not trying to be aether. (Respectfully, I don't have any pretentious feelings about my guitar playing or anything. Hats of to you guys, musicians I salute you!)

I think I'll shut up now, and serve you with last weekends harvest;

All these songs where from the same night, with the exception of the 3 collaborations with The Movement, they just fitted in so well with these tracks i thought...
to be safe, here's Henry Rollins on rave and modern rock music

Relaying somethings about electronic music, and he's right, it's the same way we feel, BUT in our defense everything you hear here is Live, and played and tapped on the spot, I KID YOU NOT!
the only tracks that have loops are the Movement tracks, plus the drum loop on track 10. It might sound like there are all kinds of gizmo's around (this was the case in the Movement session) bat what you're listening to here is just Guitar, Bass, and keyboard, with some effect pedals, in a living room... :p

There'll be laughs, there'll be tears
There'll be boredom and excitement!
There'll be happiness and there'll be sadness
There;ll be hate, there'll be love
There;ll be joy, there'll be disgust
There'll be gasps, there's be sighs
There'll be cacophony,
But there will be Harmony.

:d

We ask you to stay along for the ride! download 'm put them in order in a playlist and ?enjoy? the ride.
The really cool parts are usually buried 6 or 8 minutes deep into the jam, so if you stick around, we hope you'll find it worthwhile! And hey, Remember Lazy, The End, Won't get fooled again, Bohemian Rhapso, Telegraph Road, In-a-gadda-da-veda, Stairway? How long where those songs? (getting a bit pretentious here ;P )

We don't take ourselves too seriously though, we're just sitting in the living room with out gear up and about. making noises with what ever is at hand. It's not like we're intentionally trying to lay down a professional master piece. We're just jamming.
Plus we're equal-opportunity-fucker-uppers; sometimes we have top musicians playing with someone just learning to play they're instrument. (instruments and positions are also revolved)
So if you could excuse the slip ups, there's some self-realization in progress...;P
We encourage this as part of the Musical Chairs play.
It's about the spontaneity and about the participation,
breaking through barriers and pulling each other up.
We think that humor is very important in music (life), so some times we just trow in some really silly things, like showtunes, or some awful "disco dance" beat, just as kinda a middle finger (or a wink) to all the mainstream crap out there. except we do it all live and by hand! don't be fooled, those drum samples where tapped live!
And if you're thinking, Pff, Hey, I can do that! good! that's exactly the point, now go out and start a band and make some music! 8)

See you at the Lifehouse...

(BTW, we'll be back in full Band form soon, I promise)
