Roamy has no time for your facts and logic.

She has a problem with history as a whole.

It's like she has a picture in her mind of irish, british, welsh, and of course the native americans from the historical periods that made the most impact on her/means the most to her, that is really static and so has to be the world in order to make sense to her.
Problem is for people who can't keep up with changes (or won't accept them) the world simply isn't static. It changes all the time and so do countries and it's inhabitants. Like I said, if you have idealized a certain people in a certain time period you base your pride on it really sucks but you better deal with the fact the world and everything in it is subject to change.
People can be proud on their ancestry of course, wether I like it or not, but when they start to discriminate their fellow humans because of it or spread misinformation and glorified nonsense about 'true brits' for example it's not really a good kind of pride anymore. When you're spouting discriminating verbal diarrhea because your ancestry is more special or 'true' than others don't be suprised when people tell you to take another look in a blunt way.

I think it goes beyond that with her, though. It isn't just that she has a picture from a certain moment in time; it is that the picture she does have is even wrong for that moment.

when the spanish took over south america the spanish didnt decide " hey we are on their land so lets start speaking their language"
    no
it was the locals who changed their language because they were defeated.

English is a Germanic language. The people who conquered England were Germanic, not German. Roamy can't grasp the difference. They spoke a number of languages/dialects that we, today, collectively call Anglo-Saxon.

Modern day german didn't exist at that time. Languages evolve. The language germanic anglo saxons, danes etc. brought with them to England have evolved in english. Roamy seem to think it's german though.
By the way, the locals in the america's that were part of the spanish empire may speak spanish but that doesn't make them spanish themselves naturally. Same with americans from the states that speak english. The only time mexicans etc. were considered spanish (probably not by themselves :p) was when they were part of the spanish empire.

You need to check your history (again). William of Orange (William the Silent) was born into the House of Nassau, which is a German line. William himself was born in what is today Hessen, Germany. The House of Orange-Nassau didn't even exist when he was born and only came into being when he inherited the title Prince of Orange from his distant, French relative, René of Chalon, in 1544.

wrong.he was born in the house of nassua as court of nassua-dillenburg.william price of orange 2th4april-1533-10th july 1584. he is widely known moreso as william the silent. in dutch=willem de zwijer,or simply william of orange.in dutch=willem van oranje. he was the main leader of the dutch revolt against the spainish.which btw set off 80 years of war.already having been born in the house of nassua-dillenburg,he became a dutch prince of orange in 1544 and is therefore the founder of the branch house of orange of naussau,as court of nassua and the ancestor of the netherlands. he was assasinated in 1584 by balthasar gerard also written as gerrardts ,in delft 1584. the dutch invented orange carrots in his honour. i never eat orange carrots.
