To be honest, history is not very factual. Especially at a time where most people couldn't or didn't write we solely rely on sources that may or may not be colored and facts may or may not be added of left out.
A valid point, but that is also true of pretty much all history. There are facts, such as those some of us are trying to convey to roamy about William of Orange, but how we interpret those facts can certainly vary.
i thought that went without saying. anyway. nooo i meant what bird last said about roamy. that will teach me for not quoting.
We do have black petes though, but technically we don't own them. Not even Sinterklaas. They are servants and get paid honest wages in peppernuts: http://www.hipforums.com/newforums/showthread.php?t=478234&f=51
all the same house of orange. if it makes it simpler for you can call them all the williamites.the williamite war in ireland.i.e supporters of protestant prince william of orange, all of who were english dutch. and the only trace of tribute! left ta him here,is the head off his statue which was removed and thrown into a council yard dump room in 1929 an trust me theres no bowl a carrots left with it for him when he gets hungry. :smilielol5:
The Provence of Orange is in the south of France, not The Holy Roman Empire Round here people with the name: Deutsch are almost always Jews.
Funny note :2thumbsup: And yes, he grew up on his family's land and with their title of Nassau which was in the Holy roman empire, then a french cousin of him died which was the prince of Orange and he inherited that title and princedom in the Provence. With that inheritance also came possessions and responsibilities in the Netherlands which eventually led to him becoming stadhouder of Zeeland and Holland (2 of the most important parts of the Netherlands at the time). As you probably know those noble families and their inherited lands and titles are not always limited to one country. If his cousin didn't chose him to inherit that princedom in the Provence there probably would never have been a house of Orange-Nassau That they are all from the same house doesn't change the fact you were talking about the wrong guy... I think most of those orangemen were just english. edit: I should probably just left it at copy-paste this again:
i was'nt talking bout the wrong guy.i stated very clearly it was william the 111 dutch prince who invaded!Ireland.i told ye it was the william who was married to james the 11 daughter.that should have been clear enough for ye.there was only one prince of orange married to james the 11 daughter.william the 111 duch prince of orange.who on marrying mary became king of england,an so called king of scotland and Ireland.we call him king billy.the same king at the battle of the boyne.he might have won the battle, but as ye'll know.he did'nt win the war! or any after him.an yes it is significant that all were from the house of orange.no,william 111 was'nt english.he was duch, from a german line. he married into the english line.
The Pennsylvania Dutch are actually not Dutch, but German. Seems to me everyone's forgetting about the FRENCH. Holland was controlled by France for quite some time... And that's long after the Germans settled the polders.
I can't help the fact that I'm a direct descendant of General Custer either. Rule 1: don't be stupid, Rule 2: don't try to kill Indians What a rough life
