"zeppelin kid" pretty much nailed it. Your parents DO understand you, all too well.

They've had a longer experience of this world than you have and, hopefully, have learned a few things that you haven't encoutered yet. You owe them respect and obedience, while you're living in the home they are providing for you. When you get out on your own, then you can make all the mistakes you wish, but remember it's you that will have to pay the consequences for your actions. Good parents try to prepare their children for this rude awakening, the best they can. Good luck and I hope you wake up soon.

hmm... if you dont like it do what i did. fight it. when they ground you do what you want. my parents are the abusive type tho. but i still fought back for what i wanted. sneak out. leave. i didnt care. my parents were jerks and couldnt get me to do anything they said after they gave me a few bloody noses, scars, and black eyes... i go by the saying i do what i want. come on now. grounding you over a math test thats fucking stupid!

i used to be grounded constantly. eventually, i just decided not to be grounded anymore and just walked out. i'd spend days away from home, staying at one friends or another or just walking around all night. i got arrested a bunch of times, took alot of drugs and ended up completely alienated from my family. there are no pictures of me after the age of 16. i let this kill my relationship with my family. now, we barely speak. i regret this very much. my parents are seriously crazy, too. they are brainwashed by religion! but, not a day goes by that i don't look back with regret.

little brother, don't let this happen to you. talk to your parents. tell them what you told us. ask them for help. you'll be happier when your older.

mark echo is my husband, and i'd like to add that his parents also hardly have any kind of relationship with our daughter. so not only has this effected his life, but our child is without a set of grandparents she would normally have known.

its crazy to think bc you are young, but things that happen now can seriously change huge parts of your life as an adult.

i hope everything works out. it sounds like you know what you need to say to them, hopefully they'll listen.

    that just struck my funnybone.

i have a feeling pmeth eighter got upset on the preachings and left the thread,or his parents caught him at the PC.
but here's my view, just for the record:

i'm not a parent, but i just got from the "it's my life!i wanna live it for myself, not for school" stage to the "holy shit!what was i thinking?!i'm gonna need food.gotta do something about it" stage.so i guess i can share my wisdom.

first of all, life can be great.but for that to happen, you gotta learn to ignore the shit.it's great because you get to go out with your friends on saturday night.it's crap because for that to happen, you gotta forget about yourself and live 5 days a week for math, teachers and parents.
    it's not nice,but that's how life goes.

my egocentrist and immature opinion is that you're being imature.to be treated like a grown up,you gotta live for others, not just yourself.you have to understand that fun and living your life is the top of the iceberg, the big part underneath is hard unpleasant droning.shit,i'm sounding like a yuppie.please ignore me.
