"Hippie" has unfortunantly been an...um what you call it in english, ya know, an offencive word, like you use humiliate people, like the same way people call eatchother "gay" to humiliate eachother... gets me really anoyed, shouldn't be that way
Isn't that the same excuse used for invading 'terrorist' countries and imposing a fkd up rule of law upon people who don't necessarily share the same values? They, um, HATE FREEDOM so we need to, er, tell them how to live their lives so they can truly be free!!
| think some people hate hippies just because they think that they're hypocrites. Like, they talk about being at peace with everyone - and yet they fight political matters. | believe that this can be true in some cases, but not for all hippies. It's just wrong to really hate a human for any stupid reason anyway. And | read someone's previous post, about how some people hate hippies just because they choose to live a different lifestyle. | acn really agree with that. People are afraid of different things, and change. Anyway, that's just my thoughts.
they fight political matters BECAUSE the want peace. But they do it in a peaceful way. If they stand idly by and not do a thing, then they wouldn't be doing anything to promote peace. It's not like we're a bunch of hippies with machine guns saying, "peace now or i shoot."
People hate hippies because they are free! Free from mind prisons, free from materialistic bonds, free from this-is-how-u-should-live-and-be-and-look. People hate that because inside, they are little children, with that dream of freedom in them. But they made these choices to adapt to the society they were born into... And they feel they need to defence that choice. And turn it into hate.
That's about the only thing in this entire thread that makes sense. I can't believe some of you actually think people hate you because you're "different". You're some of the most unoriginal people on the planet. Once you hear one hippy talk(preach) you've heard them all. Most of you dress alike as well. But I actually like that you smell and dress funny. That way I can identify you, and not run the risk of getting cornered at parties listening to your ridiculous views of the world. "Hate your freedom", "hate you because they want to be like you", "because they can" are you guys honestly for real? This thread just shows how completly out to lunch you people are. People will only stop hating you when you stop talking. You do a few good things, but you also do a disservice to a lot of causes as well. I hate clear cutting, but when I see the hippies involved it almost makes me want to support it. You also won't critisize the Natives, or any "minority group" for anything they do, because your sole focus is on the white male. You treat minority groups like they're fragile little creatures in need of your protection, but have no problem trying to make others feel guilty over their white skin color. Even though they had no choice, and had nothing to do with all YOU see that is wrong with the world. You take everything to the bloody extreme, and critisize the crap out of anybody who doesn't do what you think is right. You guys make me sick to my stomach. But there you go. You asked a question, and like always if you don't like the answer I'm expecting to hear you guys tell me how "wrong" I am. Because only the great hippies know the answers to everything.
btw, hippyhater, what the hell are you doing here anyway? especially in a forum specifically for hippies! Why do people find it so necessary to jump into a forum and critisize every last person in it!?
I was searching google for "hate hippies" and "forum" so I could share my hatred for hippies with like minded individuals. This thread came up in the results, so I thought I'd come here and do my good deed for the day and answer your question. I mean, what better person to answer that question for you then a real life hippy hater. I've been hating hippies for over 20 years, no bs. To tell you the truth, you guys are sounding a little ungrateful.
You think coming onto a forum dedicated to the hippy lifestyle and systematically denigrating everything we stand for (peace, love and all that) is your "good deed for the day"? You need a dictionary mate, go and look up "good". I think you're working with the definition for "small-minded" and "bloody stupid".
Jealousy - they can't burst out of their tight litle lives to live like free people and resent those who can and who have They see hippies as a threat, because by their very existence they call into question everything that the conventional ones have taken as read about how life should be lived They can't understand what true and free love really is all about so they call it shameful and disgusting.
people are taught to hate and fear what they don't understand. usualy so someone else can take political advantage of their doing so. there's certainly nothing unusual about 'us' in that reguard. furrys, gays, people of other religeons, idologies, ethnicities, lands of birth, you name it. same o same o. =^^= ..../\...
I think this scene from Easy Rider between George Hanson (Jack Nicholson) and Billy (Dennis Hopper) explains it best: George Hanson: You know, this used to be a helluva good country. I can't understand what's gone wrong with it. Billy: Man, everybody got chicken, that's what happened. Hey, we can't even get into like, a second-rate hotel, I mean, a second-rate motel, you dig? They think we're gonna cut their throat or somethin'. They're scared, man. George Hanson: They're not scared of you. They're scared of what you represent to 'em. Billy: Hey, man. All we represent to them, man, is somebody who needs a haircut. George Hanson: Oh, no. What you represent to them is freedom. Billy: What the hell is wrong with freedom? That's what it's all about. George Hanson: Oh, yeah, that's right. That's what's it's all about, all right. But talkin' about it and bein' it, that's two different things. I mean, it's real hard to be free when you are bought and sold in the marketplace. Of course, don't ever tell anybody that they're not free, 'cause then they're gonna get real busy killin' and maimin' to prove to you that they are. Oh, yeah, they're gonna talk to you, and talk to you, and talk to you about individual freedom. But they see a free individual, it's gonna scare 'em. Billy: Well, it don't make 'em runnin' scared. George Hanson: No, it makes 'em dangerous.
