Why do people hate jewish people?

Although irrational, hate is very natural. I think it's not difficult to understand the hating on certain groups, it's not too different from hating on individuals or situations etc. etc. It only has even less purpose.

 

Hate is also a very overused word. Even though I may say I HATE someone, I don't know if I honestly actually hate anyone. Strongly dislike, sure... but hate? I suppose I have been lucky enough so far in life that no one has done anything so atrocious to me that I must feel hatred toward them.

 

This is very true, but I feel that there are a lot of people that are very closed minded to the point of hating a specific "group" of people. For instance, how blacks are hated by the white supremacists or all races are hated by the KKK. I think for some people, it is easier to hate a group than to accept change in culture.

 

Trick is you don't always know the motive of someone making fun of jews, it can be out of hate/dislike indeed but also (like in this case) ignorant misguidance that everything you do with Hitler or jews is funny anyway. Problem is it may equally hurt the person targetted.
Even if I think about it I can't say I hate anyone either, I still remember hating on all kinds of stuff though (puberty?) when some things felt more atrocious I dunno, I'm not a hater at all, but it's quite easy to relate to haters. Strong dislike can be a mild form of hate too I guess, they're words with rather similar meaning but hate sounds stronger, probably is why it's overused as well.

 

Especially when you've learned that this hate is righteous all your life and the majority around you shares this view.

 

Yes, it is a very sad but very real fact of life. People hate for irrational reasons. But it is also quite possible to let go of and overcome that hate. Unfortunately, like you said, many people are too closed-minded to realize that You are ultimately stronger than hatred, and it doesn't have to consume you. If only...

 

Almost as sad as the fact that the majority of humans are simply not as smart as expected from them.

I think I kind of understand why the OP asked this question about Jews specifically. When I was younger and first started learning about the Holocaust, I wondered the same thing. I've never really seen color but I do understand that the reason some whites hate blacks or asians is because they don't look like white people. People are afraid of obvious differences. Jewish people look caucasion, and it can be difficult to grasp the concept of hate when there are so many similiarities between the hated and the hatee.

 

is it really that though? i'm sure it is for some, but i'm pretty sure more people are just intolerant of other cultures, which could include jewish culture.

I would like to know why nobody is answering midgardsun. It gives me the impression of a naive attitude in the air wanting to just be politically correct even not being faithfull to the true. Why do people hate jewish people? I would change the question: Why do people insist in not believing anything bad told about jewish people? are they perfect? The truth is I do not think anyone is perfect, although I believe everyone is perfect in himself.

I don't believe jews are different from you people or myself, so, to give a personal response, what I do believe jews ar wrong in is in their racism against non jews based on their supposed divine scriptures. Should they be exterminated? my answer is that no violence should exist, so hitler was dead wrong.
What, if something, he should have done, nobody knows now, but I guess that it should have been something to avoid the possibility of banking and financists to make people poorer by aplying unfair rules.

The same nazis were trying to avoid happens now, because usa's federal reserve has every country chained to their making money interests and debt.

I feel weird doing this, because for some reason its the second time I do it since I am in this forum, buy I'd like to recommend you see Zeitgeist Addendum, a documentary (or something like that) that in the first half describes how the sistem of making money works (as far as I know, it describes just like it is described in basic accounting classes, at least in canada, but focusing in the meaning of every transaction).
Disclaimer: the second half -at least for me- seems to be propaganda of a changing the world project called "Venus", that might be a good one, but a doc shouldn't do propaganda, ain't it so?

Something to point out: here in this forum I frequently find derogatory statements against conspiracy theorys. Quoting an artist called Charly Garcia I 'd like to say that "if you are not paranoid, it's just becouse you are not suficiently informed".
And... hippysm is about love, peace and community. I don't believe it should be about stupidity, so please open your eyes and see the world also has evilness, not only flowers.

Well, for perspective...

If I were to have started a thread titled "Why do people hate black people?" the responses would have been much more hate-filled. Obviously Jews aren't hated the most, and the majority of the population (who are white and are indistinguishable from Jews) feel sorry for them because they can identify with them more, since people identify with those who look like them.

The more different a minority looks from a majority, the more they're disliked.

I wanted to know the stereotype behind jewish culture.
I wanted to know what would possibly be misunderstood and make people believe that all jewish people are bad for some reason.

Mostly because I have come to terms that everyone is different, and i've become more accepting of others dogma. Believe what you want to believe. I'm learning to be more patient, im going to school. I'm trying to better myself but there is still one thing I cannot control.

And that is hating nazi's.
I personally want to beat the living shit out of those people who glorify adolf hitler.

I'm not a violent person otherwise.
I don't want this hate in my body anymore.
But its raging and Im trying to understand wtf is wrong with some people.

 

i could use the same comparison with the culture argument though. jewish culture is more similar to white culture than black culture is (at least the way each culture is generally portrayed to the public).

hispanics often look almost indistinguishable from white people, yet their culture is generally seen as more like black culture, and they're almost as hated on.

or maybe it's money. jews, on average, have more than blacks and hispanics, and are thus more well-liked.


to be fair, i do think appearance has a little to do with it. that's just how the brain works to remember more information than it can really store. if things seem similar then the brain assumes that they are, and jewish people would seem, at least on first glance, very similar to white people.

It probably is money, actually. Poor black people living in the ghetto are more hated on than wealthy black people living in the suburbs. Hispanic people that are more well to-do are respected for their unique culture, whereas I've found there is an almost universal hatred in America towards low-income mexicans. And nobody likes poor white trash.

Ultimately, economic differences probably seperate us much more than physical, cultural, or ethnic differences.

i think the stereotype is mostly just that they're cheap and kind of douchey, and a little uppity with the whole "chosen people" thing.

the people that actually HATE them are mostly conspiracy theorists who think the jews are behind, well, everything, and palestinians, who think the jews stole their land. and some people with low self esteem who got into being nazis because the nazis accepted them.
