Why do people like Ron Paul?

Exactly right.

 

I don't think RP is capable of being phony or sugar-coating anything. He's no soundbyte candidate, but we all see where eloquent speech and charisma have gotten us as far as presidents go. With Ron Paul, it's bare bones facts as opposed to Bible verses (neo-cons) or empty emotional appeals about Hope and Change (libs).

The best part: he has a 30+ year voting record to back up everything he says. He has never been in bed with Wallstreet tycoons or corporatists and has always based his votes on constitutional principles.

People who accuse RP supporters of only wanting drugs legalized are appealing to the moral and religious right, who will accept nothing less than the draconian drug laws we currently have. At the same time, they're detracting from Paul's many other attributes and views, such as less military spending, sound money and most importantly, INDIVIDUAL AND STATES' RIGHTS.

 

Ron Paul is the perfect example of an "anarcho-capitalist." Fuck him.

 

Ron Paul will run the country by adhering to the rules set down in the Constitution; and we desperately need a leader like that. Be mindful that the Powers That Be will all be saying bad things about him to try and make him lose popularity - but they have all done nothing but lie to us and cheat us - and are right now; even as we speak; driving us citizens head first into a Depression that is supposed to be worse than the last one in 1929. During that Depression, people had to line up to get food - there was no food for sale in stores; no gasoline could be purchased; people were living in the snow because no body had jobs and families lost their places to live. I'm not kidding - and this Depression is supposed to be worse. Many people will die because winter is approaching, etc. But, if we elect Ron Paul he will turn the country around and maybe we can avoid some of the hardships because he won't let the rest of them take our money anymore. It's complicated, but all of this said, I ask you: why wouldn't you want to vote for Ron Paul?

Now, if you made that statement about the rest of the bunch, I'd go along with you. But to make the statement about Ron Paul just glaringly reveals that you know not of what you speak. What are you thinking?

 

Yeah because the constitution was such an enormous success, what with that horrendous civil war less than 100 years after it was brought in.

An anarcho-capitalist isn't a true anarchist (freedom stops where money starts and capitalism is a form of hierarchy). Anarcho-capitalists tend to be against large government (such as how Ron Paul wants to reduce government spending and let the states rule themselves to an extent) and for enterprise without bounds.

 

Ron Paul wants to get rid of the IRS... Surely that's reason enough? He knows what's up, he knows that the Inland Revenue Service is not a service.

 

Anything tied to the current government is a scam set up to herd us around like sheep to the slaughter. This is why I don't vote. Maybe for once in my history (i.e. my generation) we'll actually get an honorable man into office. But I wouldn't bet my piss poor income on it. The System corrupts honorable men and makes them into puppets, don't tell me you can't see the strings. Is it possible that Ron Paul is actually a nice guy? Sure. But thats as far as it'll go.

You people in the USA, please, for God's sake, since you don't seem to be planning on a revolution any time soon, please use your vote on this guy, even if you've chosen not to vote or whatever. For God's sake, this guy could save the world. Check him out all you want. Check his voting record. Watch videos of him speaking from years ago and from more recently, watch the Ron Paul EXPOSED videos if you have to (to see how dumb most of them are) and hopefully catch a couple of the Ron Paul EXPOSED Debunked vids after.

For once somebody comes along who upholds the constitution, wants to do away with the IRS, wants to legalise cannabis and basically talks like a lot of intelligent activists/malcontents have always spoken. I really feel that now is not the time for cynicism, for once a good guy comes along and too many people are giving it the "everyone in government is there to trick us" and "the news says he's a maniac" etc.

Do your God Damn research before you comment on this guy. I truly believe he could actually save the world. In fact, I'm willing to bet my hipforums acitivity award medal on it.

 

Ron has a lot of people all over the world listening and to him and hoping like you mustlivelife that the USA will waken and realize that Ron Paul is the real deal. His people are very organized and his campaign has many devoted volunteers I dare say any of the other candidates have the organization that his campaign has. the media hates him so that ought to tell you something...

 

That was incredibly boring video mustlivelife. Why should I care about some old guy reading off a teleprompter blabbing on about civil liberties? Disintegration of law and order - bring it on, I say. Also the fact he thinks the US is a welfare state is laughable.

 

Well, if you live in the USA and most of the rest of the world then a good reason to care is because maybe with someone like this as president, just maybe the US would not be at war with... how many now... 7 countries? Wars that they can't afford? And how about getting rid of the IRS? Eh? So if your tax dollars go somewhere they go to impronig your society, not into the same banksters' pockets that fuck you, I and the rest of most the world?

So many reasons you could care but I don't know, don't care if you don't want to, have fun when order breaks down, though you probably won't really. One of these days I'm going to have to find out how to put people on ignore in these forums.

 

What are you talking about? The dude thinks the US is a welfare state so clearly he wants to abolish whatever help is available, and you're talking about spending money helping people. Wtf? Where do you think all this extra money is going to go? The poor and those that need it aren't going to see a cent of it. It's pure marketing, the same old crap being given a shine and polish to appeal to whoever will buy it - which is anyone stupid enough to believe the answer to their problems is as simple as returning to constitutionalism, fiscal conservatism or civil libertarianism.

 

I am surprised at how many Americans think that following the Constitution would not be good.

 

It's not the constitution that would be bad to follow, but do you honestly believe that any of these pig bastards that we have elected wouldn't sell their mom out for a second in the spotlight? They take the constitution every damn day and fuck with it to suit their own agendas....
