I think that's only "hardcore" punks cause I'm into grunge & that's a offspring of punk, and I don't hate hippies. And if it is "hardocre" punk then isnt shocking cauuse "hardcore" punks hate just about everyone & everything.

 

Yea, Grunge DECENDED form Punk, but its NOT Punk. Hardcore Punks arnt all bad. I know a Hardcore Punk band from Scotland called Tear Jerk, and them and all their fans are some of the soundest people you'll ever meet.

yea I bet they do, every single one of the how ever many thousand of them there's likely to be in the world at any one time. I'm sure not a single one of them does a day without firebombing a shop

 

Could everyone please stop fucking saying "im a hippy" or "hes a punk" it just makes you look so fucking stupid.

 

Most people sadly believe that hippie are calm and for peace and punks are for destruction...
But some revolutionary groups from the late 60's and early 70's were really freaky and out of control...fightin' with their manner a mad governement...they use some bombs they were in search of an extreme solution to fight it to death an extreme governement under the influence of a mixed up brain (lsd) .
All this 'cause the governement (the ideal fathers , the exemple of the country) don't really like his sons ("son if u really like america...you've got to kill vietkongs") (or "like it or leave it son")


And as far as i'm concerned their's nothing in punk equal to the Berkeley politic (communist) rebelion movement ...

From the both movement tell me which was really a danger for some occidental governement machinery...
...the danger don't came always by the side you wait it with anxiety

is this still going on? Hate has nothing to do with what kind of stereotype you decide to be. I can hate or love any person- I don't care what they dress up as.

or i hate everybody (even myself :$ !) so i'm a punk rocker...

it's sad...if people choose their style like that !

Personally i'm 40 % hippie 30 % beatnik 10 % a punk rocker(nothing after 82) 10 % hard rocker(until 1982) and 10 % a early70'sfunksoulbrotha = me :H

I get along with everyone I know...I don't have any people that I don't like...there's something good in everyone and I make it part of my life to find it...everyone I know either enjoys me or thinks I'm just a drugged out little hippie...but really, I'm happy with the type of person I am...so fuck em...and that's the way it should be man!

I think Punks just like to fuck with Hippies. There is no hate in it.

About the hipppies at Black Flag shows, read the book "Our Band Could Be Your Life". It talks about how hippies were thrashed at shows because most of the punks were suburbanites who thought it would be fun to start fights. The book is a great read though it talks about Black Flag, the Minutemen, Mission of Burma, Minor THreat, and Husker Du among others.

 

U don't need to smoke a lot to be far out...it's all depend of the reaction of your own sensibility...every soul is different...
some people need to smoke everyday...
i just need it every week-end...if i smoke more it makes me feel deconnected with this world...but not in a good way

Alot of people hate hippies, cause people label everything. When I mention the word "hippie" at school, verbs that sound in the response are usually along the lines of "dirty, unpatriotic". One guy I know said "Please don't become a hippie!".

 

People don't hate hippies because of labels. All labels do is get them all together so they can be hated. The same goes with punks. Why do people feel the need to label each other? So they can bash a large group of people at once.

Anyway, "punk" is an outdated label and so is "hippie".

 

So when did Dirty and Unpatriotic become verbs? Are they past or present forms?

 

dude im so with the guy that said fuck lables, but i read something where this "punk" was like hippies dont do anything they just complain, so i was the first to correct him, becuse as far as im concernd a punk is a hippy dont we both fight for the same things?
