Oh yeah, especially power metal bands are good at that. Those high vocals just are part of those hilarious heavy metal cliché songs. But when it's done right and involves lyrics about axes and beerdrinking I'm not against it at all.

This one does it for me:

It's more about swordwielding warriors and dragons though.. But that's also very power metal. :)

    right, me too
i dont listen to screamng music
but smtimes i hear smthing new, some good start of a song,i get charmed
    and then
    suddenly
    this screaming starts
    the charm is gone

Pavel, you'll never prove to me that rhcp is "mtv directed shit" (yes i remember these words though you said them half a year ago:) it was a blow ;-)) i love themand their latest albums are fantastic :p

    as for screaming
well i cant claim that it cant be beautiful
    for some ppl
    just not for me
i love thw words being distinct for they should make sense
such songs are wordless for me coz i dont recognize them
and i dont like wordless ones

i dont really remember chemical doing a ton of screaming when i saw them live (what, the tickets were free for me and my best friend really wanted to go, her other friend cancelled on her.... and a couple of their songs are actually pretty fun like mama and teenagers) but the band that opened for them was all screaming from this dude witha jewfro who threw sandwiches at the crowd of prebuscent miniskirt-clad freaks. not a fan of the opening band, the dude from chemical is a good performer live though (ie gets the crowd riled up really well)
