Becuae girls are evil. I make music becuase no one loves me. I have been curious for sometime now. Are there any girls out there that have consideration for people, besides when they think there are advantages involved, or am I just a magnet for the ones that don't. Sorry to take it out on all of you, I'm sure that you're out there somewhere, just not around here.

Further to my previous post, and speaking as a semi-pro artist, there is one reason for making art that no-one has mentioned yet.

    To pay the rent?

no disaprobation intended, but even those doing so, do their (to me) best work (which is to say, that which i personally find most gratifying) when the're not.

sure it's an honest living, but a world in which concepts like debt and payment did not exist, would be an even more honest one.

especially if it were one that permitted, encouraged, and encouraged everyone to permit themselves to enjoy engauging in and fullfilling whatever intillectual and or creative capacities they might happen to have.

I like to think that art is valued in society. Artists, poets and storytellers have always held a unique position in cultures. Even those cultures where money (as such) didnt exist, bartering has taken place. Artists had a roof over their head and food on their plate because other people valued their skills and creative contribution.

Sure, its good for everyone to be creative, it is a healthy thing (and part of personal development) to make physical representation of the imaginative process. However, visual imagery is used in all religions (as far as I know), and valued as decorative assets in the environment through history. So artists have always been able to place a value on their work.

By the way, their is nothing like a deadline to focus the creative juices!

It is my profession and a hobby…

Most important – life you live is – art! The only art is what you have in your real life…

Otherwise, ‘art’ is just a trade…
