See that's what i thought your original point was, in which case you still get the stupid award because that's a stupid point. Most of the world believes in god, in fact most of the world believes in the same god since Christians and Muslims and Jews believe in the same god and that accounts for almost 2/3 of the world's population

 

i know plenty of jews. and they're awesome.

i know plenty of people who believe in god and plenty of people who don't, and they don't hate each other.

i believe in more than one god and there doesn't seem to be a problem with atheists, monotheists an polytheists living together, most of the time people don't even know what others believe in, because its not really something that's important to anyone but themselves. stop being so ignorant.

But to add to the topic, its not so much as believing in God that people hate, but when theire beliefs lead to extreme outburst's. For example all this terrorist BS, Hystorical Witch burnings, Exorcisms, Tortures etc.

Im fine with someone going to church, avoiding certain foods and praying solong as he does nothing to fuck with my life. Most religious people do not, but you have idiots in every society. Some blow themselves up, others make a fool of themselves when they knock on my door, others just plain old piss me off by trying to block certain freedoms because 'its the devils work'.

IMO fuck religion, but hell not the innocent people who just dont know any better.

Allah is just the arabic word for god, Christians in Syria call god Allah too, and in Islam Jesus is about the 3rd most important person in their religion and is considered one of god's great prophets and a miracle worker/healer

ok all three religions begin with Abraham. abraham was promised by god that his decendents were super duper. and his wife sarah was mad old, so sarah told abraham to get their servant hagar, preggo, so he does and that is when ishmael is born, ishmael is the "ancestor of muhammed"

then abraham has isaac with sarah and they kick hagar and ishmael out. and isaac had jacob who was renamed israel by god, and that is why the jews are sometimes called the children of israel.

"God" is not Christian, god refers to any deity of any religion, in fact in Christianity the more appropriate term for god would be Jehovah. And yes, Muslims, Jews and Christians all worship the same god going from the beliefs of the prophet Abraham, hence why they are called Abrahamic religions.

Why people hate Jews is actually a pretty simple question (In my opinion), but you need a history lesson to answer it. So here's a little rough and basic overview of Jewish history. (I apologies in advance for any mistakes!)

Historically, the Hebrews were a Semitic tribe originating from around the Levant. The Hebrews were able to conquer the land of Canaan and establish the United Monarchy, the nations of Israel and Judah. When foreign invaders managed to capture Israel, many Israelites (Now technically a subdivision of the Hebrews) were forced into slavery or exiled to Judah.

With the nation of Israel extinct (for the time), the Hebrews now almost collectively lived in Judah. This is when the term Jew was first coined, being literally derived and translated from the word Judah. Unfortunately for the many non practicing Hebrews like myself, being a Jew not only meant you were a descendant of the Hebrew Ethnic group, but also a follower of Judaism, the official state religion of Judah. This created an interesting situation for "The Jews" when Judah was ransacked and the diaspora began.

In these times, being a foreigner was awful. You were untrustworthy, you were stealing business and in general you were just unwelcome! (Sounds familiar, doesn't it?) What made it worst for the Hebrews, was that they weren't Hebrews anymore, they were Jews. Those guys who wear funny hats and go to the Synagogue. This created a unique type of xenophobia against the Jews, because not only were we foreigners but foreigners who worshiped a different religion. One can't forget, that religion in these times was EXTREMELY important.

Many scholars predict that had there not been a nation wide conversion of Zoroastrianism to the Muslim faith, and HAD there been a Persian diaspora, it would be quite possible that Persians (Maybe being renamed Zoros?) would face similar prejudice.

The code of Law that Jews followed also granted them some unique job opportunities. Money loaning,banking, basically the management of any currency was forbidden by the Pope. Since it was against the law to own any land within most Christian Nations, Jews (Now having dispersed throughout the entire world but mostly to the regions of Ashkenaz, the area near France and Germany) were forced to embark in these careers that their Christian neighbors were forbidden to take part of.

Anyways that's a little rough overview, it goes a lot deeper of course, but to sum it all up.
