In that video she comes back to a baby at the end. What mother wouldn't steal if it meant her children? I know it's not really reflected like that, but really. That's what I was getting at with chopping off hands, more like survival. Plus, how the hell is dumpster diving stealing. I've never ever understood that but yet they lock em up with chains etc... what the hell are they protecting?
Stealing is stealing. I'm not going to lecture or anything, because I only care so much. But its pathetic that you'd try and add zealotism to petty theft.
Someone once told me "It's impossible to starve in America". That's true (without stealing), unless of course you refuse to eat. Bringing down corps by stealing, nah, won't work and I think it's just selfish motive rather than for the 'greater good'. Just drives up prices and sends a message we still need the crap. But, some mom going crazy because of no income and children, I could understand the motive whether the action is right or not.
Shoplifting hurts consumers! The amount of shoplifting in 2003 equals a 10% tax on everything purchased! Imagine if the government tried to impose a 10% tax. People would be outraged . . . and shoplifting should cause outrage! Like a previous poster said, the corporations won't suffer. People will loose jobs, and prices will go up. Everything is paid for, one way or another. If you steal from Wal-Mart, you may as well have stolen from your grandma.
I think so. I think stealing from large corporations is absolutely fine, and even positive, but stealing from petty-bourgeois people is on the border of what is immoral. So stealing from Walmart, 7/11 etc. is just fine. My only rule is to never steal from honest working class people.
You DON'T understand! Prices are adjusted to compensate for projected shoplifting. As shoplifting continues OR increases, prices are sustained OR increased. . . Who do you think pays for this? The majority of people who are honest, working class people! You ARE stealing from them. (from me!)
The guy thinks communism is a viable economic system and Cuba is a democracy. Do you honestly think he can understand something as fantastically complicated as the cause-effect relationship between stealing and prices? If he understood simple common sense economics he wouldn't be a communist. After all this thread is for convenient excuses, self-serving rationalisations, and lame evasions for theft. Why spoil the fun?
Of course you would support stealing, you are a communist: Take from people to satisfy your own needs, and fuck whoever else has to make up for your crimes. That's all communists have ever done, committed crimes against people. They plunder and rape countries and they become the ruling classes. Bravo. Be proud that your system has enslaved millions of people, committed possibly the worst genocides in human history, and that your economic system is based on theft, laziness, and sloth. Your parents did a great job raising you didn't they. I hope you do steal from Wal Mart and get caught.
If someone steals and doesn't need to that is the greatest sin imaginable (and I mean need to, I don't mean need to so that they can afford cable because the number of people with cable and food stamps is astounding and stupid) if it is a totally last option (stealing v. death) no government will help you and nothing else exists, then go for it, and try to nail walmart, but until then there are so many people who do it for the thrill, that I am unable to put into words how tweaked that is
why is it good? you are still supporting them and the shit they sell just by walking in the door. and don't they just bring more in to replace what you've taken, so other than you, who benefits?
. No Its simply greedy. A: you're just inflating the price, hurting the honest consumers, And B: if you get away with it, during inventory; the person who was watching the store will get written up and possibly fired. It's petty and greedy, and whats even worse is that you try and justify it through some sort of perverse logic that it's ok because the stores are large retailers. But it does hurt people, you're hurting people because of your greed. You're not a revolutionary, you're a petty thug.
Everyone has to be accountable for their own actions. And live with the consequences of their decisions. I'm not judging anyone. But I would like to know for those who think this is ok, why would you want to damage your souls integrity? By this I mean, everything you do is recorded in your bodies energy feild or aura. Even going to the dentist and having exrays is damaging to this feild. your aura helps to protect yuo - from bad energy sources. Why do you wish to damage this protection? The worse shape your aura is in the more sussectable you are to other negative energies and dis-ease. In this time of earth changes, dna activation, why do hinder your own personal evolution? I know the powers that be want to keep us suppressed and dumbed down as a specie. They don't want our souls to ascend. Why don't you break away from your programming? Do something radical and develop a conscience and allow your soul to develop to be able to deal with the changes?
Knock yourself out, then! I have prosecuted 37 shoplifters in the past 5 years. I would LOVE to bust you!
It's a vicious circle.....I work in a mini mart, people shoplift, I see it...I do NOTHING...You see, corporations steal from you everytime you purchase something.... Corporations like wal-mart and speedway are part of the reason our economy can really suck for the average joe. I choose to do nothing because most of the people who are shoplifting are somewhat destitute, or they're kids. Either way, I have been in both pairs of shoes, so what right do I have to judge them. By the way...I had to say something about this subject because of how I came up with this screen name...SODABANDITO= the soda bandit: Last summer, I was pretty broke. Jobless, homeless, that kind of shit. Anyway, up the street from where I was staying was a mini mart (much like the one I work at now), and at this mini-mart they had cases upon cases of pepsi sitting outside..just stacked up by the gas pumps. You fill in the blanks... Too make a long story short though, I now know for a fact that the mini mart I am talking about never even noticed the missing cases of soda..In fact I have also come to find out that many many others took advantage of that situation and are anxiously awaiting the time of year for the "free soda". A multibillion dollar corporation......THATS GREEDY!!! But all in all, shoplifting isn't right...ohhh,..and drugs are bad..mmmmkay!
I really like 7-11's approach to this problem. If they have a store that is frequently pilfered, they simply shut the store down.
