I'm not talking about all Christians... (And OWB, I don't think true Christians hate science either, but from what the op said, he deals with the same kind of "Christians" I do.)

and I was just giving examples, no, not all Christians hate evolution but this is the best example of what the op is talking about that I could think of. I'm not talking about just any Christians, I'm talking about the super-conservitive kind of Christians that I see every day. They, hate evolution.

As for medical marijuana, I only brought that up because last week I was talking to one of those Christians I just described. He was talking about alchohol and he said, (I'm quoting) "it's hard to refuse a beer, not like marijuana. If someone offered me that, I'd just say I want to live to be thirty. I can't believe they want to use that stuff as medicine. It's just another way the devil is taking over this country."

not that most Christians are like that, but I think those are the ones op was talking about.

apparently my post disappeared. i'll say again, it's because people, especially those in power, are afraid of knowledge.

 

I understand but I'm never quite sure when someone uses the word Christian, if they are talking about "Christians" or Christians.

 

As for medical marijuana, there are medical uppers and downers and even medical morphine, so what is the big deal about medical marijuana?

 

I don't want to turn this into a medical marijuana thread, so this will be my last post about it.

I asked why termanaly ill people shouldn't be able to ease their pain with it, and he said something to the effect of, "people will get it, and start selling it illegaly"

idk what a normal person who is against medical Mary j would say, but this is the stupidist argument I've ever heard. First of all, people already sell it, A LOT. And people sell perscription drugs like oxy or vikoden all the time too. Those are way more dangerous than a little weed, and maybe they would show up a little more rarley if weed was easier to find.

There. Those are my thoughts. I'm done now.

 

God forbid someone sell medical marijuana. I mean, it's not like anyone sells medical OxyContin...RIGHT?!?! I'm so confused
